⚠️ Beware of some reviews! DO NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP! The game is VERY GOOD but it is not for everyone!

Chrono Ark vs. Slay the Spire
Many people will tell you that Chrono Ark is way better than Slay the Spire… The truth is, IT DEPENDS:

Slay the Spire (A20) is easy to learn. The cards are simple, and you will quickly understand what to do. You know the enemies’ intentions and you can easily counter them. Plus, you can finish your runs in under 20 minutes, and the game autosaves during the run.

Chrono Ark, on the other hand, is hard to learn. Most skills are complex with a bunch of synergies, so you will need to invest TIME AND PATIENCE to know what is going on.

You will have to learn how to fight each enemy, as there are no clues about their actions, and each enemy has different mechanics.

The biggest downside, in my opinion, is that the runs in Chrono Ark are longer: my fastest run, rushing like madman, took 55 minutes. Most runs will take over an hour to finish, and you have to manually save.

So, if you want quick runs with friendly mechanics, Slay the Spire is better.
If you want a complex and challenging game with waifus/husbandos, deep strategy, a story and longer runs, Chrono Ark is the choice.

About Chrono Ark

I initially hated this game. I even opened a thread on the official forums to understand how to read the f*****g skills. But once I managed to understand the game, I loved it.

You can choose from 20 characters and form a party of 4. Each character has unique card sets (skills), roles and passives.

At the start of a run (and depending on the mode), you can only choose 2 characters from the pool to form your team. You will recruit the rest randomly during the run.

You will also get each character’s abilities randomly, that’s the deckbuilding part. Likewise, you can equip each character with 2 pieces of gear (some with special mechanics) that you will obtain randomly from events or shops.

In those events/shops, you can also get Relics. Relics passively enhance the party. Unlike in Slay the Spire, Relics must be placed on a Stand to take effect, and there are limited slots!

Also everything happens in a randomly generated map full of secrets! So yeah, it is quite likely that each run will be unique.

Combat
You will not always face the same enemies or bosses. There are many, and each has their own mechanics. Often, you will not win by brute force; if you ignore the mechanics, you will wipe and cry. All of this comes with a wonderful combat soundtrack!

Generally, the combat is like a JRPG: turn-based. Although this is not entirely true, because depending on the abilities, passives, and synergies, EVERYTHING CAN VARY A LOT.

Most combats might seem unfair at first and even completely unbalanced. And that is true. But the game usually gives you enough resources to compensate it, you just need knowledge. Although let’s be honest, if you have had bad luck, some battles are impossible to win, lol

There are also multiple modes and challenges to raise the difficulty, and if you get bored, you can always install mods with new characters, enemies, mechanichs and a lot of stuff!

Story
The game has a story, and it is okay. However, there is a lot of text… Most of the stuff that takes over 30 minutes of reading can be summarized in 5 lines…

You will gradually discover what is happening as you play naturally. You will also unlock some CDs that, when you watch them at home, will complement the story details quite well.

While the story is not a masterpiece, it is quite interesting. However, as I have mentioned, it can feel quite overwhelming because it doesn’t know how to summarize the information (just like this review, lol). Anyway, if you don't like to read, you can skip it.

Conclusion
I recommend buying this game if you meet most of these points:
  • You are a waifu lover
  • You enjoy playing complex games
  • You love JRPGs
  • You like deckbuilders
  • You have fun reading a lot of text
I don’t recommend this game if:
  • It is not on sale
  • You hate fanservice
  • You are looking for a simple game
  • You cry when an enemy unfairly wipes your entire party
  • You don’t have enough time to play (you want fast runs)

This remaster is an absolute masterpiece, a love letter to the fans of Tomb Raider classics.

Classic Lara returns with graphics improvements, exuding her iconic badassery with short shorts, dual pistols and dinosaurs (yeah, all the stuff that Crystal Dynamics removed in the newer ones).
That’s the Lara we all love (I guess that’s why the game was released on Valentine’s Day).

If I were to nitpick, one aspect that I don’t like of this game is that the cinematics did not receive a proper remaster and feel somewhat out of place when using the updated graphics.

Controls
If you are a newcomer, a returning player or transitioning from the newer entries, you will likely struggle with the controls.
Keep an open mind and try to learn how to use the tank controls, in 1-2 hours you will be an expert (trust me, I was struggling too: If I could nail them, anyone can).

You can play with modern controls, but in my opinion, they are way harder and not worth learning. Instead, during that time invested, you could become proficient with tank controls (>ᴗ•)

Do you think that it’s not worth it to learn? Mastering them can unlock a treasure trove of classic games like Resident Evil, Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill and many more. Also, you will get the satisfaction of beating the game like a real OG. Are you a worse player than someone from ancient times? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Gameplay
Gameplay-wise, it’s fantastic! It retains the controls from the originals while implementing many improvements (like adding the jump roll in Tomb Raider 1). I have not played these games since I was a fetid child, so experiencing them again feels like a breath of fresh air. Also, you can toggle back to the older graphics for an extra dose of nostalgia.

The games are not easy; they are not just a simple platform games. Everything is a puzzle, even the jumps. So take your time to calculate your next step and good luck! If it’s your first time, using a guide will ruin part of the experience but it’s ok, I recommend using Stella’s Tomb Raider guides, if you are stuck in some place.

Furthermore, the game includes all the expansions (which I have never played before) and a lot of achievements that will provide ample challenges to keep you hooked.

Development
This remaster was developed by Aspyr and Saber (not Crystal Dynamics), and the Saber team hired numerous Tomb Raider Classic community modders (such as the Open Lara developer) to work on this game.
Basically, this game was made by fans for fans. Also, though I am not entirely sure, it seems like the game was developed using the original source code.

Controversy
There has been some controversy surrounding a woke warning added by Crystal Dynamics, disrespecting the original developers of the game. My advice? Simply ignore that warning and play the game. After all, this remaster was not even developed by Crystal Dynamics. The only thing they did was putting that warning in the game!

The best way to counter such a warning? PURCHASE THIS GAME AND SHOW LOVE TO THE CLASSIC LARA.

Also, many people are complaining because apparently Epic Games (which only has 2 customers X’D) received “an improved” (which is actually a debug) version at release. Please, ignore them; the game is receiving constant updates, people love to cry about everything!

PS. There is also a polemic about censoring a nipple in Pierre’s Jacket ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My apologies for the overwhelming wall-text. I have segmented the review, so you can read only what you want.

Honest review
Note that my experience with the Yakuza series is limited to Yakuza 7 because I’m a JRPG enthusiast, but if you are a fan of the Yakuza series, I am sure that you will greatly enjoy the game.

After completing the game with all the achievements, I can confidently say that it is not a bad game. However, there are numerous areas where I feel like it could improve.

It is important to consider that this is my opinion, though it is worth mentioning that Famitsu awarded it a perfect score of 40/40, deeming it a FLAWLESS game.

Story
In general, the story is a flat ok, but by no means is it up to the level of Yakuza 7:

The story starts slow… very slow… So take a deep breath and keep playing.

Also Ichiban’s story is chaotic. As you progress, your interest wanes. You will meet interesting characters like Yamai, and you will also witness some great scenes and twists. But, you will soon realize that the main objective loses coherence, with too many elements thrown into the mix.

Early on, the narrative emphasizes the language barrier (Ichiban’s inability to speak English in Hawaii). For unknown reasons, as the game progresses, everyone in Hawaii magically learns Japanese ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Initially, this doesn’t appear like an issue, but it shattered the immersion for me. It could have been easily fixed with anything, such as implanting a language chip in Ichiban’s head that automatically translates English to Japanese…

Combat
The combat system has undergone significant improvement and is vastly superior to that of Yakuza 7.

While in most encounters (even on the highest difficulty settings), you may find yourself spamming AoE abilities, you will also enjoy visually stunning combos with your friends.

Additionally, there is a wide variety of new jobs available for your characters, and you can transfer skills from your other jobs to your main one (although you are restricted by a limited number of slots). This feature is particularly appealing as it allows for extensive character customization.

Mini-games
The mini-games are extremely fun:

Among the most noteworthy are the game’s unique take on Animal Crossing (which, personally, I’m not a fan of that genre…) and the Pokémon-style battles (surprisingly entertaining, lol). If only the game included Yakuza 7’s Dragon Kart, it would be flawless…

Furthermore, there is a wide array of mini-games to discover, including a Dating App!

Exploration and secrets
As you explore, you will find enemies with a crown above their heads, indicating that they are mini-bosses. This feature significantly enhances the allure of exploration, as the rewards you usually receive are great.

Besides that, the game introduces several mechanics, that will keep you engrossed for hours. No complaints, the exploration in this game is brilliant.

Post-game
The post-game content of Yakuza 7 is far superior:

As you know, the base game lacks from post-game content (although it includes Premium Adventure), which is gated behind a DLC Paywall ($EGA?).

Unfortunately, the DLC doesn’t offer much, merely introducing a new, unexciting, and uninspired dungeon (which is essentially a duplicate of the free one) and the option to engage in New Game+.

Is it worth it? Well, if you have come this far and you like the game, yes. Otherwise, you are not missing out too much. However, if you are aiming for the 100% of the achievements, the DLC is necessary

New Game+
As mentioned, this feature is locked behind a DLC paywall, but it’s important to understand what carries over from the Normal mode to New Game+. Because it screwed me so hard T_T

Anything outside this list is reset!
  • Character/Job Levels
  • Items/Equipment/Money
  • Traits/Bonds
  • Minigame Progress/Currency
  • Sujimon Team/Levels (but the story progress is reset!)
  • Dondoko Items and Money (but the island is reset!)

Also, be aware that if you complete New Game+ in Legendary difficulty, you won’t unlock the Hard achievement simultaneously! You will need to save your game before the final boss, then reload it and lower the difficulty to beat the final boss again and obtain the achievement. Alternatively, you can complete the game for a third time… lol

Conclusion
It is a solid game, but the price is extremely high for a game that is not even full (since you are “forced” to buy the DLC if you want to enjoy everything). If you can get it on sale, it is totally worth.

In my opinion: While it excels in certain aspects, it also disappoints in others, ultimately leaving it somewhat uneven compared to Yakuza 7.

Somehow I managed to play Portal for the first time in 2024 avoiding spoilers since its release.

The sterile yet captivating environments, coupled with GLaDOS’s sarcastic commentary, created an unforgettable experience. Despite its age, Portal is a timeless classic with enduring appeal, captivating new players even years after its initial release.

Still shocked because the song ‘Still Alive’, despite never having heard it before, evoked an overwhelming sense of nostalgia.

Aunque a mí siempre me dieron asco, salvo Missile, a quien rindo devoción.

Por lo que, si está en oferta, nunca lo has jugado y te gusta todo lo que ya he comentado: cómpralo sin dudar.

Early Access Review
If you enjoy exploring, scavenging, annihilating zombies, farm, craft and build stuff, then, 7 Days to Die is an absolute must have for you. Even though it is still in Early Access, the game is fully playable and offers a blast in both solo and online modes (although I prefer to play with friends).

With the possibility of randomize your maps (or create your own) and a huge community of modders, the game offers endless replayability, so you will never get bored.

Considering its affordable price when it is on sale, you can't go wrong with this game.

Of course, like any other game, it is not flawless. Performance issues might crop up depending on the settings of your world or computer. So, keep this in mind when buying it!

Listen to me, this is the only review that you will need in order to decide whether or not you should buy this game.

Keep in mind that this game is not for everyone. Do not listen to the fanbase; In my opinion, the game is just a great excuse to tell a very good and intricate story.

I will try to avoid typing a wall-text, although it will be hard. Also the review is spoiler-free.

Setting Up
You can enhance your game experience by using the HD Texture Pack Mod and Special K. Also, this is a very personal preference but, YOU MUST CHANGE the voices to Japanese. Trust me, it is a huge upgrade (unless you hate Japanese).

Story
The game is set in the year 11945, where the humanity has abandoned Earth and fled to the Moon after it was invaded by aliens using a powerful machine-lifeforms as weapons. To reclaim our planet and fight against the machines, the Council of Humanity creates YoRHa, an elite military force of androids.

NieR:Automata™ has one of the best stories that I have ever seen, blending sci-fi with existential philosophy to create a thought-provoking narrative. It is totally worth playing just for that. However, I must admit that at beginning I had to force myself to play because the game didn't hook me at all. After reaching a certain point of the story, I just couldn't stop playing.

Most people will tell you that you must finish the game multiple times in order to enjoy it. Well, that's not true. A single playthrough is enough, just aim to reach lvl +50 while naturally playing.

Gameplay
The game is set in an open world full of secrets, enemies, resources and quest. The side-quest are a little bit repetitive and lacking in variety, also completing some of them may require a lot of backtracking at the beginning of the game, which can be a pain. Fortunately, at some point you will unlock teleports which make it much easier to get around and complete quests.

You can customize your character with unique weapons, plug-in chips and special pod skills.

The combat system is a great mix between hack-and-slash and bullet hell games. However, once you have a consistent weapon and plug-in chip loadout, it becomes extremely easy (in my case, I was one-shotting everything, even bosses! that's why I said that the game feels like an excuse to tell a story).

Just take note that many people complain that the game's scenarios are poor and empty. But let's be realistic: We are in a dystopian world with a well-crafted and well-told storyline, so it makes sense for the world to be like that. Perhaps they were expecting to play a different type of game, such as a musou game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

DLC
The DLC is a great and fun addition that is totally worth playing.
It unlocks three different colosseums (each one with its own rules) that will test your strength.

As you complete the different levels, you will unlock special skins and items. Also, if you manage to complete the higher difficulties, you will unlock an extra ending.

If you are wondering about the DLC name 3C3C1D119440927 it means:
3 Costumes
3 Colosseums
1 Dream
⟡ A date: 11944-09-27 (you must figure out ingame what this date means, just remember that the game starts at 11945-03-10)

Conclusion
I recommend this game if..
  • You are looking for an immersive and emotional storyline that explores philosophical themes.
  • You have recently watched the anime.
  • You like games with multiple endings.
  • You don’t mind pressing random buttons and still killing everything.
  • You enjoy completing collectibles such as monsters, items, fish, etc.
  • You love exploring and discovering the game's deep lore.

I don't recommend this game if...
  • You are easily bothered by camera issues that can be disorienting during combats or in tight spaces.
  • You are looking for a challenging game or with frantic action.
  • You don't like heavy anime-style character designs.
  • You expect a wide variety of sidequest and enemies.
  • You are looking for fanservice.
  • The game is not on sale.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an excellent remaster of the original PlayStation 1 Spyro games.

It’s a 3D platformer/collectathon where you play as Spyro, a young dragon who must save his world from various threats. You will explore different realms, collect gems, and fight against some peculiar bosses.

While the game is not very long or hard, it offers a lot of fun and charm. However, the controls and hitboxes can sometimes be frustratingly unfair.

This remaster has amazing graphics that make everything look vibrant and detailed. The levels are diverse and creative, ranging from medieval castles to futuristic cities. The music and sound effects are also great and match the atmosphere of each world.

One of the best features of this trilogy is the ability to use Sparx to point where the gems are located. I strongly recommend using this feature to not miss a single gem:

Device
Button
Keyboard
P
Controller
L3 (press the left analog stick)

The games, however, do have some annoying bugs related to the FPS cap. To fix this, I recommend setting your FPS cap to 120, although it may be different for you depending on your device and preferences:
  • In all games, Spyro may slide while idling, which can be annoying because you can’t do precise glides, charges or jumps.
  • In Spyro 1, the Alpine Ridge door may not open sometimes, which is frustrating because you can’t complete the level.
  • In Spyro 3, the achievement "Man the Cannons, Man" may be bugged in the Lost Fleet level, you will need to restart the game and kill all the vultures again to unlock it (if you are lucky).

Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the presence of one of the few Ubisoft-published games that are worth buying these days.

⚠️ Due to the nature of the game, it is censored in certain countries (like Germany). But you can bypass the censorship by adding the Uncensored Patch from Nexusmods.

The game follows the adventures of a new kid who moves to South Park and joins a fantasy war between two factions: humans and elves. The war revolves around a powerful artifact called the Stick of Truth, which grants its wielder control over the universe.

The graphics are like being in a South Park episode and the voice acting is done by the original cast members.

The gameplay is fun and engaging. You can create your own character and choose from four classes: fighter, mage, thief or jew (yes, you read that right). You can explore an open world full of secrets, side quests and interact with at least, 120 characters from the show.

The combat system is turn-based and requires strategy and timing. You will have access to various weapons, items and skills that can be used to defeat your enemies. You can also recruit special allies with unique skills to help you.

The game has some flaws, though:
  • The DLCs are useless: They only add some cosmetic items that become obsolete after a few levels.
  • The game has permanently missable content: There are some collectibles and achievements that can be lost forever if you don’t get them at certain points in the story.
  • The game has no post-game: Once you finish the main story and all the side quests there is nothing else to do except start a new game with different choices.

And remember: Never fart in someone’s balls.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a remaster of three classic platform games that were originally released on PlayStation 1. If you are a fan of the original games or you want to experience them for the first time, you will not be disappointed by this collection.

The game preserves the essence of the original games but with improved graphics, sound and controls. You will explore different worlds full of enemies, obstacles and secrets. You can also enjoy new features such as extra levels, online leaderboards or even playing as Coco Bandicoot in all three games.

The game offers a lot of variety and challenge for platform lovers. You can ride a wild boar in an ancient temple, escape from a triceratops in a prehistoric jungle or pilot a fighter plane in an aerial battle. Each level has its own theme and mechanics that will keep you engaged and entertained.

However, the game is not perfect. It has some frustrating moments due to its high difficulty level and some unfair design choices for some players that wants to reach the 100%. Some levels require precise timing and memorization that can make you rage quit more than once. The game also has a serious bug related to the autosave feature that can ruin your data.

🪲 Bug explained
In Crash Bandicoot™ 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot™ 3: Warped, after completing a Time Trial Challenge, the game will automatically save before you enter your name.

If you exit the game on this screen or if the game crashes, reloading your save will still save your time, but you won't receive the corresponding Relic. This is because in order to properly save the Relic, Crash has to finish his victory dance, which happens after auto-saving and exiting the level. After the dance, the game auto-saves again, and there is no lost.

The bug is potentially dangerous if you earn a Platinum Relic because you won't get it, and you won't be able to unlock it again. With the Sapphire or Gold Relic, there is no problem as long as you manage to beat the Gold or Platinum times respectively.

To avoid this bug, just disable the auto-save feature!
