Want a very nostalgia-inducing game to play? Eastward has got you covered. Between the graphics, the soundtrack, and the playstyle, you can be as casual or as hardcore about it as you want. If you do die, the game's forgiving in the checkpoints where you're not too far back. You also have manual saves with some very philosophical save points that just add to the experience.

Definitely a big roller coaster of a game in the emotional department, and highly recommend everyone to give it a go.

For a new rougelike in 2020, this game does the genre justice. Amazing soundtrack? Check. Amazing visual style? Double check. Amazing voice acting? Triple check. Replayability? Not enough checkmarks I can put down.

Each playthrough's success or failure are either due to player errors due to ambitions or not paying attention or flat out RNG giving you the best set of abilities or the worse. There's definitely a learning curve until you get settled in on a playstyle that suits you, but once you find a playstyle that works, you get to focus on all of the fun ahead.

Great simple game with a variety of references and parodies towards classic and modern games. If you have anywhere between an hour to three to spare, I definitely recommend this game for something relaxing to play in your spare time. You can accomplish a lot if you stick to the main story, but there's definitely side content outside of the story to do.

My only complaint about the game is that it's too short for what it could be, but my expectations weren't too high in this regards considering the flash game this was originally based off of.
