Loved the game during its first months, came back to it recently and its just a slog. Lost all my progress of course, the new shop is confusing and terrible. The new staring warehouse lacks the charm of the first, and everything seems like 3 times as dark as it used to be. Controls and movement seem outstandingly worse and more clunky than before, in and out of VR as well. Just a very weird game to come back to and everything feels worse

Firestorm looks very good, although I hope losing 1000 crew members for it has no impact

House Va'Ruun should have been in the base game. Waiting to expand on the 3rd biggest/strongest faction in the game and hiding it behind future DLC in my opinion is crazy. There needs to be more factions and NPC interaction anyways. In Skyrim I could talk to everyone and have pretty okay branching dialogue. In this, it's a handful of NPCS that hold conversations and that's pitiful. It's a space opera with split humanity, there would be WAY more factions than a big 3

Karlach deserved much better ending routes. Dropped the ball there in my fully honest opinion. Act 2 was pretty miserable and boring, but that's just me. Otherwise phenomenal game, fully recommend

I put off playing this game way too long, and with the sequel announced it finally pushed me to start!

Honestly I really liked the art and mechanics of the game. Pixel art will always be a big draw to me, never get tired of it. The resource managing is pretty difficult, especially with the agents, kinda too miserable sometimes but I get it. The story and writing is where it kinda lost me and I'll go into detail and some spoilers below so here we go:

#1 I understand Lorsulia being given away for marriage and being put to deathare supposed to be emotional driving points, but I felt none of those emotions or connections at all. She is gone 15 minutes into the game, never to be seen again besides a 2 minute scene where she is gone again. Her character "arc" with Ivo was nothing but miserable and weak. And I mean with Dusty...really? Just stupid

#2 Asalia is genuinely horribly written, and once again I felt nothing in terms of emotional or story connection. She is written only to be an awful, mean brat and she, to my surprise, stayed that way the whole game. I thought her little character arc with Maya could have been cute, but she just became more bratty and awful. Really? She's 12 or 13 and runs away with nothing, not caring about her family/new baby brother when she knows full well another war is about to happen with them? I was glad to be rid of her

#3 Eryk. Oh King Eryk....I really enjoy who we play as, I do. But the way this poor man is written/ the choices you have to make just seem like someone making a tumblr OC just to do torture p*rn. I'm glad we can make him....not so miserable?

#4 Ah, finally the good stuff. I LOVED the Queen and Cedani so much. Now here are characters I actually cared about, your wife loves you and only wants the best for you/the family. And Cedani is just a silly kid, with all her agents I wish I could have saved. Great characters, along with Audry and General Stan who I wish had more dialogue.

I know it seems like I ragged on the writing and story mostly, but I did truly enjoy the game. I'm hoping that the sequel brings out MUCH more depth with certain characters, along with maybe being able to actually see the kingdom of Davern as well.

OVR Advanced Settings used to work flawlessly in VRChat, the main game I used it in, especially the playspace drag. However, after the whole VRChat EAC debacle every time I load up OVR ADV my game absolutely tanks in frames and general performance. I've tried everything, uninstalling OVR ADV, repairing files and doing the same thing on VRChat along with attempting to repair Easy Anti-Cheat at the programs core. But it all simply comes back to OVR ADV, for when I close out of OVR all the frames and performance come back full throttle and the game runs perfectly. I just don't know what to do at this point, OVR ADV is an awesome program but it simply destroys my game now and I seem to be the only person I can find who has this issue
