If you enjoy turn-based tactics games and you like Gundam, but you aren't sure about the price tag - Wait for a sale and buy it. It's arguably worth full price but it's a steal on sale.

In regards to the DLC's, Grab them if you like the suit's or series that they represent but be aware that the content that they represent is additional suits/gear as well as background music to use, they do not come with additional missions etc. The one exception to this is the expansion.

Also of note, the UC timeline is completely unrepresented in this title, so if that's a deal-breaker for you, take heed. SIEG ZEON!

Did you like Diablo 2? Did you secretly wish Diablo 3 would have been MEGA Diablo 2 and not made things so cut and dry? Path of Exile is for you.

Pros: Not cut and dry
Cons: Not cut and dry

Not even as a joke either, the depth of complexity to figuring out a character is simultaneously one of the best things about the game and also what I've seen overwhelm a lot of newer players. Don't be afraid to figure things out, but don't be afraid to look things up (Or use various 3rd party character builders) if you are confused either, there isn't really anything in the way of a tutorial, and a lot of stuff is worded ambiguously.

If none of that scared you or on the contrary seemed interesting, you will probably like the game because it's well done and the team does a good job of keeping things up to date.

I'm going to acknowlege ahead of time that I don't have a ton of hours sunk into this game.

Within that time, I played a handfull of games. I wish I was exaggerating when I say that every single game I played was full of toxicity, whether I won or lost. I don't recall even a single GG among all of the "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ uninstall, cancer noob." and much worse. I want very much to recommend this game because in terms of concept and mechanics, it is at least a solid game (not fantastic, but solid). But you are required to play with others and I guess playing enough monkey in the middle where the objective is to "kill/not be killed" somehow makes people really sour. Additionally, the game is rather buggy and waiting in a lobby can drag on for longer than you may be willing to wait. I have to imagine if you have 2-3 other buddies that own the game and want to enjoy it as a party it could be fun from time to time, but I cannot confirm.

A consistent level of difficulty makes you learn from your mistakes and relish success, rather than being trapped in an obvious digital skinner box.

Do you want to enjoy a game about pulling off various heists and miscellaneous profitable crimes? This may be the game for you. Since it's inception, the overall balance has shifted more from gritty and punishing to more akin to a cooperative arcade-y shooter, due to builds that enable you to regen health or provide bonuses for killstreaks, etc.
If you are looking for something more challenging and team-based, the first game in the series "Payday: The Heist" may be more your speed.

If all the dlc turns you off, be aware that it adds content but is not required. If you play online, you can even play the handful of heists that come from dlc by playing in someone else's lobby without paying a cent. (Edit for full disclosure as of 5/24/20 - There are more than a handful of heists from DLC, but they are still playable so long as the host has them, which STILL doesn't have to be you if you have friends or want to mix it up with the community) Additionally, the game has a history of going on sale during major steam sales, so if you are patient, It may be worth it to wait until one of those to grab the game (or one of it's many DLC's) during that time, though the base game is definitely worth the listed price.

All that being said, gameplay is best suited for games played with your own friends as cooperation is key, and while the community isn't terrible, it's significantly harder to effectively communicate with strangers than your own friends. I have played many enjoyable hours solo, but the game shines and really makes memories with others.

A game that has a lot more content than first meets the eye. Call it third-person Minecraft that actually has a goal in mind.

While there is definitely plenty of sandbox fun to be had, the ability to more or less "beat" it will be satisfying to some players.

This game has potential, but outside of playing with friends, there isn't a ton to keep you comming back.

Honestly, one of my biggest gripes is that every time I've gotten on to play, there was nobody else on to play or a half dozen rooms to play in that were locked: likely just friends messing around, which is totally fine.

Bottom line: A decent game that's significantly easier to spend a little time playing with friends, but probably not worth the current full price. Grab it if it's on sale with a buddy that also likes action games, but otherwise skip it.

To say too much would be to ruin the experience. If you have a few minutes, you'll experience it all.

Give it a shot!

Even back when you had to pay for this game, This game was great for spending time with buddies.

There is no game out there that you can have the kind of fun you can have with Tf2 for the cost. (Free)

What does it have that other shooters don't? Great style, 9 unique classes to suit your playstyle (or the situation), and not only a great team behind it, but a great community to keep things fresh with new content and fun mods.

And really, you won't know untill you try it and there isn't a ton to stop you when there's no cost.
Give it a shot!
