Would be better if Aegis/Immune's weren't a thing.

Overall, love the game. Have left and come back to it multiple times since first playing it back in 2012. I'd play League or DOTA if I didn't despise Top-Down/Point and Click movement games, but unfortunately they're just not my thing.

I think overall SMITE gets a bad rap. Don't get me wrong, this game is full of balance issues, but what MOBA isn't? (Especially for new champs)

The main selling point for me though is the 3PP/WASD movement. Like I said, I hate point and click stuff, and find the game-play/combat in SMITE much more fun and engaging than I do in League. When a team fight in SMITE happens, I can actually see/comprehend what's going on, and do something about it. When a team fight in League happens, it just looks/feels like a garbled mess of blurs and bright flashes and I have no idea what's even going on. Plus I never can really do much to stop it.

Personally, I just feel that SMITE is a lot easier and more fun to pick up (Especially if you're a beginner to MOBAs) and just feels much more digestible overall.

If League or DOTA ever decide to add WASD/Controller support, or a new/better MOBA comes out that's not top-down/point and click movement... who knows, my opinion could change.

I've been a long time player of MMO/RPG(s) for a long time now such as WoW, ESO, BDO, etc. And even though this one is brand new, and time will tell if it truly succeeds or not; I believe it's well worth the $40.00 USD.

The game's core mechanics are very solid, the combat for both PvP and PvE is very engaging and a lot of fun, and it had a pretty decent story with all things considered. Not to mention that on launch with 700,000+ people playing, there wasn't a single server crash and not even any noticeable server lag!

The only negative thing that I really have to say about the game is that with sometimes 3,000+ people in queue for joining a server, you sometimes have to wait an hour or two to actually get in game... lmao... But, Amazon's already done a fantastic job at negating this as the 2nd day after launch they added several more servers to each region.

Overall... New World has been a fantastic game to play so far, and if you're a fan of MMO/RPG(s); chances are you'll like this one a lot.

UPDATE 11/27/21:

The majority of what I had originally said is still true. However, the game is starting to lack new things to do. Hopefully things will turn around.

This game is great. I've played it for many years, and this summer sale just keeps making it better and better. I love this it is great game. Much wow. This is so good. I hope that this will keep up for as long as it can. Very good much wow. Bye.
