The story continues where Lightning is now a savior, sent from God. The world ends in 13 days, and it's Lightning's job to deliver the people to salvation and bring them to a new world through a large amount of side quests. The problem here is the game's content heavily rely on side quests, which really would not be a problem if there was direction on where to go, and if you weren't timed at all. The clock system in my opinion, is a terrible idea. The atmosphere of the game is also very boring, and you spend a huge amount of time in one area.

Maybe I will pick this game up again in the future and my review will change, but for now, I really can't bring myself to force myself to play.

The story continues off of Final Fantasy XIII, where you're now playing as Serah who was freed from the ice crystal. Lightning was sent to a different timeline after the events of the final battle, and now it's up to you travel through time and fix reality, as everything is being altered by the main antagonist, Caius.

The soundtrack is one of the best pieces you'll ever hear in a video game, the story for the game is great, and there's a lot of emotion and desperation, as you're only controlling 2 party members. Serah, and a boy named Noel who was sent by Lightning to protect her. This time around, you can summon monsters on the field to help you in battle. DLC's are already on the game, which is always nice. You will get access to costumes and such, but extra story DLC is only available after beating the main story of the game.

This game does include a bunch of content besides the main story, such as a dozen or so optional/super bosses, hundreds of side quests and fragments to collect to form time paradoxes and view multiple different alternate endings and "what if" scenarios. You can also replay a time period in the paradox to get items you may have missed, or bosses you couldn't fight because you were way too weak and had to skip to progress the story. If you're a completionist, this game will keep you busy. I also like how gil is easier to obtain this time around, as you earn gil after every battle, unlike FF XIII. The gameplay is also a little easier, as sabotuer skill moves actually do damage now on top of weakening enemies.

Now, here is why the game is getting a negative review from me.

1. It's a VERY bad port that requires crash fixes.
2. You NEED to play Final Fantasy XIII to understand the story, and how to play this game. Soundtracks return from the first game into this one and with significant meaning. You won't feel the emotion if you don't know.
3. Random Encounters return, and they're insufferable. In the first game, monsters were already on the field and you could run pass/ignore them if you wanted to. Now they pop up every 5 seconds if you do any type of movement that isn't standing still or looking around with your camera. Sometimes, you can't even outrun them either and some fights are just unavoidable.
4. The puzzles in this game are miserable. They're not bad at first, but when you start doing puzzles that involve moving around, they can be pretty time consuming PLUS random encounters every 5 seconds making a puzzle feel terrible.
5. The game does a poor job on where you need to go next in the story. You'll find yourself guessing and hopping through timelines trying to figure out how to progress. Key items and story routes do not appear on the map most of the time
6. You can save anywhere, at any time, however, reloading a save will always put you at the Historia Crux menu (the gate used to time travel) and if you put down the game for a day or two or longer, you may end up forgetting where you were in the story.

The game is also pretty short, I beat the game in 28 hours playtime in-game time. So if you're a Final Fantasy XIII fan that absolutely loved the story and need more, buy this and continue the journey, but get the game on sale or something so you don't feel bad about anything.

Perfect Final Fantasy game. Amazing soundtrack, satisfying battle system, and a complex yet interesting story to grasp on. The game is about a group of characters that have their own personal goals, but they are bind together after becoming l'Cie, and wielding the gift of magic and are now fugitives on the run from the cops due to being posed as dangerous threats from what they could possibly become.

The gameplay starts out right out of the gate, and you're immediately thrown into the action. There are a lot of tutorials for battle, but they're also straight to the point. The gameplay is also pretty linear throughout most of it, but it was shocking to see that it does get open world at some point, and with a handful of missions/quests to do on free time as well. There are no levels like your typical JRPG, but the Crystarium web allows you to learn and improve skills as you go, which is pretty satisfying to collect those points. You can also level up weapons and accessories to help aid in battle as well.

At first, I wasn't a fan of Lightning's personality, but over time, she definitely grew on me, and as the story goes on, you start to understand each character and what makes them all very unique. Overall, solid game, and probably the most underrated-overrated Final Fantasy game. Overrated in terms of, everybody knows Lightning, even if they haven't played a FF game, and underrated as in, most people would start the game but not really commit to it. That commitment is definitely worth it.

I love Devil May Cry, and the visuals for this game look very pretty. It's also amazing how they face scan real people for the character models, so it truly feels like a movie. Soundtrack is amazing, orbs and gold orbs are much easier to obtain this time around, However, this game gets a no from me.

The story is very boring and doesn't get interesting 'til the very end. The areas are very linear, and you're just going from one area straight forward to the next without much thought. You also cannot go back if you missed something. The combat can feel very smooth, then at times, it can also feel oddly clunky.

The Playable Vergil DLC is whatever, you're just retracing the story mode Nero's steps as Vergil. He has 3 weapons, one of them being the Mirage Edge which just plays identical to Dante's sword, which is pretty lazy.

I would also like to add that the story just feels like rushed fan service for long time players through references of DMC 1 to 4, and basically a "sorry we've been gone so long" since DMC4 released in 2008. Like okay, here's Nero from DMC4, the story continues with him, then 9 chapters later, Dante finally shows up, and you're already fighting Vergil a couple chapters later. If you're a long time fan and curious on how the story continues, it's a must buy. If you're new/curious to the series, you're better off playing older titles from the HD Collection.

I played Persona 3 almost 13 years ago, and to this day, the ending made me cry again. The story is an absolute masterpiece, and this is a piece of Shin Megami Tensei history that is a MUST to play.

However.. I wouldn't recommend Portable at all. The gameplay is very boring, bland, and mind numbingly easy. Lack of animations, battle soundtracks, and rinse-repeat gameplay of hitting weaknesses followed by all out attacks for the win is enough to drive anybody insane. The portable version also feels like 90% visual novel, 10% gameplay because there are no physical character models that move at all, and you only navigate by using a blue (or pink) cursor.

The only plus side to this game is that you can play as a female main character, and the most fun I had were from doing fusions. But if you want to experience the story for Persona 3 and also have fun interactive gameplay, I would recommend to emulate Persona 3 FES or play Persona 3 Reload.

The game is about a Scientist named Kate Ward who travels to an unknown planet full of dangerous aliens. Somehow separated from her crew, she searches for them, only to discover shocking truths along the way, guided by Naya, who also reveals a chilling truth to her.

The visuals for this game are top tier, the soundtrack is very pretty and the realism makes you feel like you're playing a movie all at the same time. My only complaint for this game is that sometimes the fighting can feel clunky, and the fact that the game has no replayability. Once you finish, you will have to start a new game again from scratch. Overall though, worth it if you're into third person sci-fi adventure games that are action packed, and challenge your brain a little. If there was a second game, I would definitely buy it, and this game deserves a chance if you ever see it on sale.

Very flawed level designs, repetitive gameplay, boring story. Only upside is it has beautiful visuals and the soundtrack makes up for the boring gameplay. Bought it off a key site for like $0.80 cents, so if you wanna play this, just at least buy it for less than a dollar or whatever.

The game has two stories, Canon of Creation and Canon of Vengeance.

Canon of Creation (if you refuse to take the girl's hand) is the game's original story, which is recommended to play first if you're new to the game. This story focuses on the Law/Neutral route.

Canon of Vengeance (if you choose to take the girl's hand) is the added on story, and this story focuses on Neutral/Chaos, which gives the original story in a different perspective, access to different boss fights, different scenarios/outcomes, two new worlds to explore, shines more light on the characters you meet in the beginning, touches more on the gaps that the original story failed to cover, and adds in more dialogue to further make you question the decisions you might make by the end of the game. But even then, this also has some plot gaps near the end, so it's recommended to play both, and definitely do Canon of Creation first.

The only flaw this game has is the design of the maps, as even though everything will be there for you to see on the map, it can be difficult actually trying to get to certain locations, and this could waste a lot of time. Other than that, the gameplay can be pretty addictive, and the soundtrack is absolutely amazing.

An amazing game and worth the buy. Game may feel a little clunky at times, and that is because it's a direct PS3 port. "Repop" mode just removes the gore and give "modern" controls. Buying this game most likely helping the devs fund a Lollipop Chainsaw 2 or a new game similar to this, so I'm all for it.

Really solid game, and a huge step in the right direction. Have spent a majority of my time on this game video editing and actually got YouTube partnership because of it, so this game helped me a lot. All we need is more CAW and Image space and it will truly be the best game ever.
