It was a graphical tour de force when it released back in 1997, and while its visuals haven't aged as well as one might hope, the game still holds up as well today as it did back then. That's thanks in no small part to its fantastic story, excellent battle system (Materia is a great take on the class system), and superb soundtrack. Final Fantasy VII brought JRPGs into the mainstream. You need to play this game.
