although in concept, there's some similarities, thronefall isnt just 'kingdom two crowns 3D'. while i loved kingdom, thronefall proves to go one step further, taking the elements in kingdom that works well, and adding more on top of it. more buildings, more enemies, with the varied weapons, tons of perks, and mutators, comes a whole host of challenges, and with it, lots of replayability.

graphically, it's simple, clean, and it works. the music and sound is enough to draw you in. but the gameplay is where this game shines. balancing between economy and defence. planning what to build, where to build first, what perks to bring to help you, what mutators to add to the challenge. lots of combinations to try, lots of thinking, and lots of planning, constantly bringing you back for more.

In february 1991, Street Fighter 2 changed the arcade scene around the world. It was a revolutionary game, and from it, spawned the modern fighting games genre that we know today. Eventually, arcades were in decline, and fighting games as a genre, started to slowly fade. In July 2008, Capcom kickstarted a new revolution to the fighting games genre, in Street Fighter 4. It brought back the crowds, and showed everyone how the old genre could be revolutionized, yet again, by incorporating 3D models, into a 2D plane.

While Capcom massively botched Street Fighter 5 at launch, essentially releasing a bare bones game with tons of problems, it was clear they've learned their lesson.

Now, we have Street Fighter 6. Launched with more characters than SF5, filled to the brim with content, for both those who wants to duke it out with other players, and also those that just want a single player experience. A new system that encourages action, new control schemes to allow newer players, and even older players, to be able to have fun with.

It has noticeably veered away a bit from a more Japanese style of visuals, to one that feels more American, for better or worse. Some might like it, some might not. When i first saw the initial teaser, i was skeptical. But the more i looked at it, the more i liked it. It feels like it brought the 'street' in street fighter out. We saw glimpses of it in Street Fighter 3, and it just feels like it's unleashed now.

On top of the great visuals, the soundtrack rocks really well with the game. It fits nicely into the themes. And it has a nice opening track accompanying it again, like back in the days of Street Fighter 3, and 4.

All in all, Street Fighter 6 is a really impressive package. Capcom did a full turn since SF5, and decided to jump in full on here, rushing out the gates with all guns blazing. There's everything for everyone, from gameplay, to controls, they even broken down the barrier with multiple control schemes. Whatever sort of player you are, and what content you like, be it traditional player vs player, be it a mixup of battle with extreme conditions, be it exploring a huge open world. If you want to create avatars, you can. If you dreamed of mixing up movelists, you can. If you wanna play traditional arcade mode, even with a car-smashing bonus stage, you can. You can even play old capcom games in the battle hub if you want. And if you wanna skip anything you dont like, you can.

What's there not to love about Street Fighter 6? It launched barely a day ago. I have 8 hours on it as i write this, and i feel like i barely touched anything just yet. I'm still looking forward to diving deeper, doing so much more stuff, playing both online against other players, and also exploring the World Tour mode. Everything is just lots of fun!

If you like fighting games, or if you're someone who has followed the series for a long time, or if you are new and want to jump into the genre, you cant really go wrong with Street Fighter 6!

i've never played the original ac3, so i cant really compare it. but as it is, this game is a chunk of buggy mess.

from glitches like distorted character models, to falling through floors and walls, the occasional random crashes, and more recently, i can no longer use my weapon wheel, as when i hold the button, the game crashes. it was fine just not too long ago, but now i cant switch my weapons. i have spent (what feels like) as much time trying to troubleshoot the problems as i do playing the game. and as i bypass one problem, i have to stop at another down the line. rinse and repeat. very frustrating game overall.

*note* it's no wonder ubisoft decided to give it away for free with odyssey.

this could have easily sat in arcades, with lines of people queuing to play. it's a great throwback and a love letter to the beat-em-up genre of yesteryears. very reminisce of the old konami turtles games, upgraded with newer graphics, and with added elements, makes a great formula for fans of this genre. while the sense of nostalgia is very high with this game, by itself, it would also be a great entry point for newcomers too.

definitely worth the full price, day-1 purchase. a highly recommended game for sure!

p.s. i hope these guys continue to churn out old classic beat-em-ups that we love. we've had streets of rage 4, which was also fantastic, and now the turtles are back. what's next? golden axe perhaps? it's time someone dug that out of it's grave and revive it.

fun little rogue-like game for those who are fans of the genre. plenty of spells and artifacts to unlock, plenty of different combos to try out, and that alone will keep you coming back over and over again. variety of bosses is a bit limited, and after playing for a long while, the stages get more interesting than boss battles personally.

but the graphics and gameplay does indeed have something magical to it, and it does provide a lot of hours of fun. the early stages will be very challenging, when you have a limited pool of spells and artifacts to play with. but once you unlock more stuff, then you'll be hooked trying to come up with some good combos that work for you.

all in all, money well spent.

bought this dlc on launch, and i have to say, it's very good value for money. it definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of content.

while 3 new characters and survival mode may seem like it's not all that much, but when you factor in the randomness of survival which gives it lots of replayability, as well as alternate moves to all the characters (although you have to first unlock them via survival mode), it really adds a whole new dimension to the game. mixing and matching skills lets you play your character exactly how you might like to play them. definitely a worthy addition to the base game, and gives you more reasons to keep coming back, and trying different things.

dead space 2 is in many ways, the pinnacle of the series (thus far). it takes everything from the original, and improves on it. in terms of control, weapons, navigation, ui, etc. and while it's 10 years old now (2021), graphically, it still looks good too. the sound design is excellent, and really puts you right in the environment, constantly gives you a feeling of creeping dread around every corner.

on top of bringing back the old weapons, they've added a few more to your arsenal, and changed some of the older ones too. and now, there's even different suits available, each with different stats, so you can choose something that suits your style of play, and the weapons you bring along.

the story picks up from the original, while retaining the same element of fear and horror, and bringing a bit more action to the table too. definitely sits up there amongst the greats of the action horror genre.

for a game more than 10 years old, it still holds up very well today (2021). if you enjoyed resident evil 4, and if you like sci fi settings, dead space would be very much up your alley, as it's a great combination of both.

what dead space does, is take the formula of resident evil 4, and added in a more modern control system, while retaining the fear factor that made the resident evil series great (in terms of level and sound design especially). much like the the re series (more so 4 onward), you do pick up items, as well as credits, along with the ability to purchase items, upgrade weapons, etc. in essence, an inventory management, action horror game, with light touches of rpg.

there's plenty of tense moments, jump scares, and with a bunch of unique weapons, each having very different uses, it gives the game a good amount of replayability too.

while the ui is dated, and playing this port will come with some problems (mouse control being a prominent one, although you can find fixes for them fairly easily, just in the guides section), it's a very well crafted game, and definitely sits up there with the likes of resident evil 4, in the action horror genre as one of the all time greats.

the last need for speed games that i've really enjoyed a lot, was probably underground 2, as well as most wanted (2005). what need for speed heat brings to the table, is like an amalgam of both those games.

graphically, it's a beautiful game, with a good variety of cars, and tons of customization. in terms of soundtrack, i suppose this can be subjective, but i found some tracks nice, and some to be ... well ... less nice, to put it nicely. in terms of story, it's a fairly pathetic attempt to cobble something together, but let's face it, no one is turning to need for speed games for amazing storylines.

it's neither as good as underground 2, nor most wanted, in terms of gameplay, but it feels like a good first step for them to take, bringing together elements of some of their more popular outings, to finally help bring this franchise up again.

fun game, but might not be worth the steep asking price to some. if you're unsure, pick up ea play instead and give the game a go.

a way out is almost a cinematic adventure. the story is short, not overly original, but well crafted still.

playing through the game, is almost like watching a movie, with the plot unfolding based on your choices. while the consequences are fairly minimal, it does bring you to different paths (which makes it worth replaying at least once).

the game is focused mainly on the story, which is quite well written, which means those who expect lots of action would be sorely disappointed. even during action sequences, it's very basic stuff. it also does rely on a lot of teamwork, so will need a partner on this journey (there's no option for solo play anyway, you MUST have 2 players).

the split screen (regardless whether you're doing couch co-op, OR online, it'll be there) may annoy some, but personally it doesn't bother me too much. that's really the only 'con' i can think of regarding the game.

it's pretty short though, so a few 2-3 hour sessions and you'll come to the end. but it's a fun adventure while it lasts.
