Team Fortress 2 is a game that I have played and enjoyed since I started middle school. I've put around 500 hours total into it and its safe to say that this game is up there with my favourites, the variety of styles to play with the different classes on top of the different loadouts makes this game so fun and interesting! There's no hiding the fact that this game is old as hell, almost 10 years in fact! but everytime I jump into a match and see the all the different kinds of people that make this game so great, and the mechanics that take hours and hours of practise and perfect I can't help but feel excited. There are so many things that make this game so great and i'll never get tired of them. It's an even greater feeling to know after all these years the game is still getting updates and additions.

The new MyM update is a healthy change to the game in my opinion, the causal matchmaking is tonnes of fun! Why people seem to think that the previous system is better than the current one honestly confuses me, the game hasn't become any worse because of this change, you still get the same gameplay and experience than before, but now in a more organised layout. Pubs are the same as they've ever been with all the same Oblivious 2fort Snipers to the Pootis Heavies who, despite finding themselves in a shooter game where the main aim is killing eachother, run (and/or conga) around throwing sandwiches at the enemy! The game is still a timeless masterpiece in my books and the Valve server changes have not effected the experience for me. I'm a fan of the added level system also adds to the gameplay because it gives you a feeling of accomplishment as you play, slowly watch as your rank gets higher and higher. Additionaly, even if your team gets rolled by a thousand hour soldier main and his pocket medic girlfriend, you still feel like you achieved something at the end of the game. I've enjoyed this mode so much that i've hit the 150 level cap!
The only changes that I would like to see to this mode is a system in which friends of players can join their match, as in it's current state, you have to re-queue every time someone disconnects or if someone else wants to join.
Overall, though this mode is great and is the best way of experiencing the game to it's fullest.

However, when it comes to competitive mode, I can't say I have the same experience. For one, it takes far too long to queue for a comp, it took me nearly half an hour for a game that only lasted two minutes. I would like to see some changes made to competitive mode. If valve took some thigs that made the community created competitive great, and applied it to their own matchmaking it would be successful potentially even reviving the game as an esport.
Overall, though this is a great game, I recomend it to anyone who has the slightest interest in the fps genre and i'm looking forward to future updates and developments!
