NOTE: I am playing this on Linux Mint, so my issues will only pertain to that and a warning to those who may use linux!

I usually start these games in a sandbox mode to get use to the controls some and fix any graphical issues with it if I run into them. Unfortunately for me, the latter is the one that is keeping me from remotely enjoying the game. Cannot play a game if I cannot see anything but a giant grey blob and the UI. So if you use linux, you may get some big issues like I have. Until these issues are fixed, I cannot recommend this game at all for those who use linux.

I always loved this series. Glad to finally see Flipline Studios finally bringing it to Steam!

Early Access Review
Not a big fan of factory games, and never will WITH the exception of this one. Had it for almost 2 years now, and each time I start playing, I will play for hours and hours. I love this game and always looking forward to the next update. If you like these games, it is a must have!

This is one of my favorite mini golf games that I own, and I own a few. Let me break this down and I will split
this into two parts.

Part 1 - Game play
Pros:

1) Even though I had to get use to this, it was fun (for the most part but more on that later).
2) Love the putting system. Pretty retro style of putting. Aim and press a button twice. Makes it easier to
putt.
3) The default holes look great! Always interesting to play through. And mostly well done.
4) Music is very good. I would go do something like take dishes out of my dishwasher and leave the editor up
and find my self bopping to the music.

Cons:

1) Things I call BS holes. These are holes, even though good on paper, make frustrating holes. Not all holes
are like this, but seems almost every course has at least one.
2) Some courses you are forced to use items. I don't like playing with items personally and being forced to
do so kind of puts a damper on things for me.

Editor:
Pros:

1) Even though it takes some getting use to, the editor itself is really well thought out.
2) Love that when making a hole, the green pieces can be stretches and warped anyway you need them to.
3) Always wanted a terrain editor in one of these games that I own, and now I have one!

Cons:
1) Needs a couple more event types.
2) Needs a in bounds box or event so we can use other things as part of our holes without using just the
greens if needed. Had a couple ideas and they don't work due to this.

Overview:
I recommend buy. A couple of glitches, some things that would make more interesting holes, and a couple of BS holes are not something I would hold it against this game. The only course I really hate is their desert one and only for that one hole. The rest of the holes I played where really well designed and fun to play with a great editor.

For those who want a quick review of this.... save your money. It isn't worth even the $5.

Now it is a simple game, and that isn't a bad thing with me. But there is so much that isn't well though out on this.

Pros:
1) It does have good art.
2) Does have decent pinball physics.

Cons:
1) Music seems a bit generic.
2) Each table (including ones you make) has goals.
3) Unable to rebind keys or use a controller. Heck the controls are bad!
4) The editor! My god this is bad!
5) No way to import models, artwork, music, or even sound.
6) Menus.

Now the physics are pretty good, and the art including isn't to bad, but the music is pretty generic and short. (Running the game in the background as I write this.) Now onto the bad things about this! This may get long!

Since I already discussed the music, I will start with the controls, you know, the thing that needs to be good! It is bad! Most of your controls are placed onto the arrow keys and camera set to A, S, D, Z, X and C keys which is annoying. Rebinding these would have increased the game play massively for me on this. If this isn't bad, there is no controller support! Even I have controller support in the game I am making! Most engines of any type have some sort of way to code that in!

Now goals isn't the problem with me, but how they tell you when you get them not well thought out. When you complete so many goals, a voice will tell you "X percent", which can be kinda annoying. When you do complete them, it stops your game play to tell you that you completed the goals, and ask if you want to continue the table or go to the next. I will go to the next table next time I am ready, and I believe most do as well. Heck, it took me a couple of minutes to figure out these little stars are indeed goals, and never tells you that this is what your need to do.

Now I am going to skipped importing and the editor, these are kinda the same and will be discussed at the end.

The menus are terrible in here. Like there is a lack of them. When you start the game, you are jumped into a table with some boxes at top. That is your menu, folks! There is a couple of windows inside there, but to choose a table, you need to hit settings. Sorry baKno, this is not a setting, this is game play. No keybindings at all. Game just reloads the table you selected and lets you play. then you have editor which will let you into the editor, but can't all this be on something like a main menu? I would think it wouldn't be that difficult to program that! I have made many of them in all sort of languages that I coded in before.

Now with making tables. Now I would complain about workshop not being included, but this was released before that, so I will give this a pass on this. However! What I will not give a pass on is the controls. The NES has better controls, and that only had four face buttons and a d-pad. This has the entire keyboard and mouse. Panning, and zooming is all used with those same keys as before when playing the game, and mouse. There is no categories for the parts in this, and you must drag the parts from the toolbar to the table. Some of the parts you use, like ramps, are a static model. Ramps should be molded to what you want them to be, not be a u-turn. You cannot change the sizes of the bumpers at all, and the color of the lights. The saucers are only for multi-balls. You cannot link any of the targets or lights, which are both targets. There are no flashing lights or regular lights that you can use. The artwork is only a generic looking table or one of the other ten table's artwork that you get in game. You cannot even change the music on any table. Just theme the look and that is all.
Importing is not an option, at all. I can kind of understand copyright, but make some more art if this is going to be the case or include decals, heck both, but still, you can put something in your EULA stating you are not responsible for what others put in the game. I have read that so many times, since I like games with editors, this is a disappointment.

This game is bad. Not good bad, just bad. There is not much you can do here. To simple of a menu, to simple of an editor, to lazy to make rebinding of keys at least. Lazily made music. Not many options. The worst part of this is that you can send a table into them so they can post it on their site. Regardless, stay far far far far far away from this thing. I am going to return it. I may get it again if they pay me $5. Yeah folks, it isn't worth it if it is free.

Great for pixel art or any type of game graphics. It will take some getting use to, but that is normal for any piece of software.

I bought this thinking 'I like to make games, and each game maker interation was not to bad from the last', and I started with Game Maker 4. Well, when I opened it up, I was met with something of horror, but I am getting ahead of myself, so let me talk about some of the pros and cons of this thing.

Pros:
-Able to make animated sprites on the fly.
-Tabs so if you want to hid some things out of the way, you can.
-If you want to see how things connect, you can.
-More professional UI

Cons: (This may get big)
-Unable to make constants, well from what I can see. (I do those alot)
-Redundant functions (Talking about Viewpoints, views for those used to them, and cameras)
-You can either choose code or drag and drop. I learned GML via using both at one time.
-Always connected.
-Removal of Backgrounds.
-Having to scroll with the middle mouse button. (More of a pet peve of mine)
-Nothing is well organized.
-No creation buttons or menu items. All left click. (As far as I can tell)
-Probably many more I do not remember or haven't discovered.

Let me talk about some of these points. First off, the redundant items in here. Last I checked, a view (or viewport in this thing) is the same as a camera. This could have easily been done by adding more views to the program.

Organization is well mucked. If I use this, it would take me a concidered longer time to make one object completely. I like my stuff fast and easy so I can get to the main thing we do on these and that is to create games. This can go with creation buttons and code vs. Drag and Drop too. Sometimes it is easier and faster to just drop something in.

You can just go down and look at those who have negitive reviews and see other things that I agree with. I am not going to completely say again what they did. I wasted my money on it, and wish I could get a refund. I didn't like everything they did with studio 1, but I understand why they did. This here, I cannot see any reason why they would set things up like this at all.

If you want a gamemaker program, get gamemaker studio 1.4 instead. Stay away from this thing.

Let me start by listing pros and cons to this game.

Pros:
-Game looks very well, even on the lowest settings.
-Once everything is figured out, can be fun for someone looking to play golf.
-Course Editors are always a plus, and not a bad one if you take the time to see where everything is.
-Tutorials for almost everything in this game.

Cons:
-Unable to fully tell how hard you hit the ball, or putt
-Grid on putting is to big.
-Graphic optination needs to be worked on a little better.

As a player and have made games in the past and hopefully sell some on Steam in the future, the fixes for two of the cons is quite simple to me. For hitting the ball, a precent gage someplace would be nice. I have brought my stick back on my game pad to roughly the same area and have hit the ball from 100% to 80%. This is not very good in my opinion.
The putting grid, well, just needs to have more grid lines to it, the system, once you figure it out or watch the tutorial, is very good otherwise.

If these two where fixed, i think this would be a very good game.

8/10

I am recommending this game for those who like or love golf. The game has it's issues, and may take from the game from time to time, but sometimes it feels a little real without going out to a course with clubs yourself.

Bought this game a couple weeks ago.

1st Attempt: Opened game, played for one minutes, closed game.
2nd Attempt: Saw Foxy about hour 3 and was just in WTF mode I closed the game.
3rd Attempt: Finally beat night one. Yes I am a wimp.

I hate jumpscares, but I love this game. Odd combo. It can be scary if not prepared. I would suggest this game for those who want to have a quick scare. I can see where this won't be scary down the road. I think the theories for this game are more scary than the game itself, but still puts me on edge.

Get the game, it is cheap and not bad at all! Saw worse 'horror' (and used really losely there) at full price.

This review will be split into two parts, the game and the level editor.

Game: Even though simplistic, that is the charm to this game. It is quite fun to play and the constant changing of worlds makes for a nice touch. Lighting is great and controller support is fluent.

Level Editor: No! Just No! It is way to buggy. I made a world for a contest of theirs and had to redo my level 3 times due to one major bug of it. The final time, I put so many hours of work into making my objects for this and when I went to make patterns, the pattern editor broke. I tried everything short of backing up and reinstalling the game, but without files for it, I cannot back it up. I deleted the world and the game itself due to this, since I cannot even look at the game anymore. I will recommend the game for playing, but if you want to use the editor, give it a year longer. They shouldn't have made a contest on such a buggy editor, even though they warned us it is buggy, that just tells me that they are not professional with editors.
