I have dozens of playthroughs between DA1-3 and ME1-3, but I'll never touch Veilguard again.

This game is beyond disappointing. The writing - easily the strongest part of any DA game - is the sloppiest, laziest, most tone-deaf, and ignorant to the lore that I've seen from Bioware. Shameful and embarrassing. I have no idea what these people have been writing for 10 years, but this genuinely can't be it.

If you expect a satisfying exploration of Thedas's history and sociopolitics in this game, don't.
If you like being treated like a toddler in both dialogue and gameplay, at least get it on sale.

Looks and controls like a modern game and feels exactly like the original! An incredible remake. Loving it to bits :)

I've only had Philip for a day and a half, but if anything happened to him, I would kill everyone on this island and then myself.

I would honestly die for this game.

1) The sound design is awesome. Thief makes you use your ears as much as your eyes and creates a wonderful immersion effect. In this game, I literally have physical responses to something being too loud or too quiet. As someone who needs games to sound good, I'm in love.
2) The level design provides an incredible level of freedom. I have dozens of ways to move through a level and still keep discovering things on replay.
3) The lore is rich and intriguing. This is probably the only game where I read ALL the documents I find. If you're here for the world building, you won't be disappointed.

The only thing that kind of sucks is the maps. The game tricks you into thinking you have a map... nah. It basically tells you "you're on the 1st floor lol" and forces you to feel your way around. Sometimes it's confusing and aggravating but once you get used to it, it feels authentic. I mean, being a thief doesn't mean you can magically find every good map in the world. Or any good map, for that matter.

Anyway, 10/10.
