The store page says "Full controller support: your Xbox controller. Support for other devices is not known". Apparently the other, unsupported devices include such arcane and unlikely devices to find on a PC as a keyboard and mouse because if you have, ever had or ever idly considered having some other form of controller plugged into your PC, the game will decide for you that you're damn well going to use that controller and won't let you switch.

There are discussion threads going back to shortly after the game released in 2017 mentioning this problem, and the devs popped up in a couple of them. You might think that a major game breaking bug like this would have inspired them to patch in a manual controls toggle, but they just said they'd "look into it", then did nothing and ran off with the cash.

I don't particularly feel like trying to play a game with my HOTAS while totally unhelpful Xbox controller prompts pop up on screen to tell me what the controls aren't, so I'll be refunding this half-arsed piece of shovelware.

Unless you have a controller that you want to use with this game, don't buy it. Hell, don't buy it anyway: it was shat out into the world with about as much care and attention as my morning dump, and we shouldn't be rewarding that.

Fun atmosphere and moderately engaging gameplay, but every single dialog window is either unskippable or requires you to hold the mouse button to dismiss, so in the bin it goes. Shame I played a couple of hours too long to get it refunded.

Completely unplayable. Main menu refuses to recognise Oculus Touch controllers.

I was looking forward to Rocksteady's return to the Arkham series after being quite disappointed with Origins, but unfortunately this wasn't the conclusion to the series I was hoping for. I was expecting a Batman game with Batmobile sections. What I got was a Batmobile game with Batman sections. Oh, and it crashes. A lot. Not the Batmobile, the game.

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only
Sync Error: please restart your game

I used to play a lot of tabletop 40K, and after playing the first Dawn of War a few years ago I was looking forward to another instalment. I wish I hadn't bothered: stabbing myself in both eyes with sporks while gargling lukewarm badger diarrhea would have been a much more enjoyable and productive use of my time. Unfortunately I can't get a refund as I put more than 2 hours into Last Stand mode before finding out that the rest of the game was completely broken, so I'm leaving this review instead in the hope that nobody else will make the same mistake.

When I finally got around to loading up a Private Multiplayer game, I selected game options, invited a mate to play with and the game crashed. So I tried again, and it crashed. And again, and it crashed. A trip to Google later and someone said the only way they managed to get it to work at all was by manually selecting the races of all the CPU players, as leaving any of them on random meant - you guessed it - the game crashed. Colour me stunned.

When I finally got into a game, I discovered that it was basically Dawn of War I adapted for short attention spans and low IQs. Base building? Gone. Resource management? Simplified to the point of pointlessness. Variety? You get 5 races to choose from, with the rest gated off behind so many pieces of DLC it would make EA say "Hang on a minute, don't you think this is a bit of a rip-off?"

I'm amused to note that apparently Dawn of War III will re-introduce some of the game mechanics that were removed. This is about as close as a game developer comes to admitting fault, but I've learned my lesson and I won't be buying it; I'll be saving my money for sporks and badger laxatives.

If you value your money, your sanity or your time, stay well away from this game.

I don't like RPGs. That being said, I can't wait for The Witcher 3.

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Not long, but deep.
