Good game. Worth £10. Cool midgame boss fight, makes you feel like a fencer. Miserable final boss fight, literal mob spam, very unfortunate. Would soft recommend.

Wow what an extroardinary game. Not only do we get a remaster of the best 3D Sonic game in the past 15 years, but we get another game which improves on it in almost every single way. As someone who never played Sonic Generations, I played through that first. You can clearly see the lessons learned from Sonic Gen to Shadow Gen in this remaster. Sonic gen is a great game, with strong level design and a great sense of speed, but it clearly had issues with boss design and Sonic could often feel a bit unwieldy, in part due to his own speed. The "flow state" of that game, that sensation of rhythm where everything feels like its feeding into the next input, could be very easily broken in that game. In Shadow Generations, the level design and enhanced controls really come together to strengthen and reinforce that flow state. Shadow feels so much nicer to control than Sonic, and the levels feel much more transparent in where you can go, what paths you should take and how you should be doing so. As a whole the game is just immensely satisfying to play and is easily one of the best platformers released in the past few years.

The hub world is also brilliant to play, a very clever adaption of the Frontiers formula of open world gameplay, encouraging you to learn the various unique abilities you unlock as Shadow without frustrating you by having to adapt to them in the middle of a level. Additionally, the map is very dense, and has number of challenges and collectables to find, leaving you with lots to do and plenty of incentive to explore and make full use of said abilities.

Story-wise, there's less to discuss, but as someone whose guilty pleasure is the original Shadow the Hedgehog, the number of callbacks and references really make it feel like a celebration of Shadow as a character, and that's exactly what these Generations games should be. I was hoping for more content regarding the story, but ultimately it does its job.

In any case, this is a hard recommend. Sonic Generations is already a great game and Shadow is even better by orders of magnitude.

This game is all killer no filler. Incredible soundtrack, lovable characters, and the best character action I've played in years. Easy must play.

A real sleeper hit of a game, never really played anything like it. Combining elements of strategy, tower defence and character action, this game is a real diamond in the rough. Would recommend for the gameplay alone, but the art direction, music and atmosphere is also fantastic. Hope we one day see a sequel.

Great game that has aged relatively well. Soundtrack is an absolute banger, movement is tied to the camera which isn't fantastic, and very much a tell-tale sign that this game was made in a different time. That said, it still controls largely fine, and the sense of rhythm you get from the movement is still a great feeling even years later. Big criticism is that the options are terrible, you don't have access to level select post game completion. But the actual gameplay is solid outside of controls being tied to the camera. Definitely a classic and a definite recommend.

Absolutely fantastic game. A brilliant sequel that respects the original game despite its age, with phenomenal shooter and melee combat. The campaign is well paced and doesn't outstay its welcome, with the co-op taking up the long form gameplay post single player. With a fully fledged multiplayer in addition to everything else, this really is the full package.

And finally? There's no paid mechanics or underhanded business decision undercutting the experience. It's a very pure experience in that sense. The only thing that could be considered suspect would be the Season Pass, but everything included is completely unnecessary to the experience.

If you like Warhammer, get this game. If you like shooters, get this game. If you like a full experience with no strings attached, get this game. And if you just like video-games, get this game.

The second trilogy in the Ace Attorney series, this collection picks up where the first left off in spectacular fashion. While I would say this trilogy is more disjointed narratively than the first trilogy, due to having to juggle significantly more characters than the last, it retains a compelling set of cases and overarching narratives throughout.

In fact, this game has some of best cases in the series period, with Spirit of Justice and Apollo Justice having absolute bangers for their respective finales, with generally more engaging culprits (Though not necessarily prosecutors) than the originals. Oh, and the soundtrack is fire too.

You can easily start the series right here if you're new and just want to get caught up to speed, or you can start with the original trilogy. Ultimately, it doesn't matter too much, as the new trilogy is designed for new players to be able to jump in without needing context from prior entries (One being the original trilogy anyway). That said, the last game in this trilogy, Spirit of Justice, does make some callbacks, so I would at least recommend you play the first two games in this trilogy before that one.

All in all, this is an absolutely fantastic collection of some of the most consistently engaging and creative murder mystery games in the business, in a genre that this series pretty much created and to this day retains a sole monopoly over. If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is.

A fantastic game. I rarely play Metroidvanias but this one clearly stands out. It's a non-combat game that emphasises puzzles and platforming in order to progress. The game is stacked full of secrets, and although I've completed the game and founds most of the eggs, I've yet to even come close to figuring out all of the game's secrets and collectables, and I'm going to enjoy coming back to this game and finding even more content that I've missed.

My only complaint is that the platforming (Jumping) can sometimes be a little too strict, it just felt slightly off at times. Other than that, the game is an absolute delight. The puzzles are fun, engaging, varied, and the world is absolutely enthralling. The items are extremely fun to use and encourage creativity. The atmosphere is top tier.

I would recommend you go into this game blind. One of the game's main pillars is exploration so looking up how to find all of the collectables and secrets will probably diminish the experience (Unless you're just looking to finish off your collection.) .

Only thing left to speak on is the pricing. The game is an indie title and so it's only £20.99. That was already great value BEFORE AAA games became obscenely overpriced. Nowadays, that value for money is just insane.

In other words, there's really no reason not to pick up this game. Its great value for money, the aesthetics are great, the gameplay is great, the vibes are great. One of the must buys of 2024.

An absolutely phenomenal co-op shooter and honestly the first live service game I've enjoyed in years. The parody Starship Troopers-esque setting combined with the untogglable friendly fire, ragdolling, and general chaos of the battlefield makes for some hilarious moments, and the shooter mechanics hold up extremely well. The game takes a somewhat more realistic view on gunplay than it's peers, as the reticule drags with sudden movement, reloading takes up a significant amount of time (Especially for support weapons) and the use of stims also takes up an animation (All of which can be interrupted by being hit). The mechanics are intended to make you feel not like a super soldier ala Masterchief, but as a fragile grunt, and it does a great job at this, incentivising you to work with your team to stay alive.

For a live service game the grind is generally quite charitable, although it is easy to get bottle-necked on samples (One of the game's three main currencies). Super Credits (The game's prestige currency) is available to be collected in the game for free and through the Warbonds (The game's battlepass system), although it can be slow if you make that your exclusive method of collecting it.

Most of the weapon's are fun to use and play, although at the highest difficulty levels a meta has formed and it's basically mandatory to take certain builds now unfortunately. This isn't because of the community, but because cumulative weapon nerfs have made all but the most effective weapons non-viable for particular missions and enemy types.

Stratagems (Heavy ordnance and specific support tools) are also great, although a few are a bit weak. Most are extremely fun and immersive to use, and require a quick time event to call down. In a high pressure situation (Which is most of the time), this can be quite challenging to pull off, and is one of the few creative and immersive uses of quick time events in a videogame. Seeing an Eagle airstrike rain hell down on an enemy patrol or an orbital laser completely wipe out an enemy stronghold is still one of the most satisfying things I've seen in a videogame. The results is both satisfying and tactically rewarding gameplay, as you have to be careful when and where you call them down, with an incredible spectacle if you time their uses correctly.

Some mission types are better than others. Most offensive mission types are great, and most defensive missions are too. But some of the defensive missions are virtually broken and enforce fail states on you at times regardless of how well the team plays. Hopefully this will be fixed in later patches, as most mission types are fine.

Enemy types are some of the highlights, both adding to the emergent gameplay in hilarious fashion while also enforcing careful and tactical play at the highest levels. The enemy types are diverse, interesting and threatening. The only real weakness in the enemy design is that some work like "Loadout checks", where only certain weapons and stratagems can deal with them, narrowing the pool of viable tools you can use on higher difficulty missions.

Overall though, the game is great, and the fact there is a pseudo-DM (Named "Joel" by the community) helping direct the war has only helped create a more dynamic and fun war story. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys chaotic co-op experiences or tactical shooters, it's a really great time.

(Save the PSN nightmare, jesus lol)
