Sunshine Heavy Industries was a delight, and this is too.

Just an absolute joy. Like all of Sokpop's games, it's clever, cute, and joyously fun.

It's a good game, but it has some issues. When in zero-g EVA, for example, when you run into a wall, the game doesn't actually cancel your momentum, and that makes for some really jank navigation. There's other little things here and there that are minor annoyances, but it makes up for it with overall fun gameplay and engaging mechanics.

I've nominated this for "Better With Friends 2024", because there's nothing better than kicking back and fishing with the homies.

Elite Dangerous is a one of a kind space sim. It strikes the balance between game and sim right in the sweet spot, not too simple to be arcade-y, not too complicated and sim-heavy to be unapproachable. Its long history lends it a dedicated and rather large and active (for a nearly 10 year old game) player-base, and while many will complain about FDev (some of the criticism is well founded), the fact remains that they have continued to support the game for almost a decade, bringing updates large and small to, eventually, address player concerns.

This game kicked off the craze, and it deserves the love.

I love Rivals of Aether. Aether Studios are good people, and this is good game. If you're looking for a replacement for Smash, you found it.

Rings of Saturn is the closest anyone's come to an honest-to-goodness space mining simulator. When it comes to physics and mechanics it takes itself very seriously, and when it comes to background details it has some fun with it. It's not perfect, but it's a damn sight more fun than mining in other space sims I've played.
