My review of the game Cyberpunk 2077

Quick take: graphics 10/10; story’s tight and the backstory hits — 10/10. Physics still has bugs, but nothing game-breaking for a well-patched build — 7/10. Soundtracks? Say no more — 10/10.

Details:
Graphics: nothing to roast here. Not potato, not over-polished — just right.
Story & bugs (SPOILERS):


River Ward quest. In his nephew’s house, when you need a video for a braindance, you pick up a key and it starts duplicating forever. Been around since ~patch 2.1.


Attribute gates in story. To open stuff during the mainline you need specific stats. Example: before the Arasaka parade with Takemura in Japantown, you’re supposed to hack cams via the north entry, but (as I remember) the door wants like 20 Body. Kinda ridiculous.


Grind city. You gotta farm a hell of a lot of gigs/crime scenes to buy all apartments and rides (took me ~10 hours for the achievement).


Enemy balance feels off for a normal difficulty experience.


Open world: not much to interact with in many cases — like street food vendors you can’t really engage with.
Car collision: weird. Sometimes one car yeets into the air on impact, or I end up sliding under it; autopilot’s shaky too.
Crashes: occasionally the game crashes when I drop an enemy with System Reset.
Second Heart: doesn’t always proc on short falls.
Soundtrack: super atmospheric, nothing to nitpick
DLC: basically perfect to me — zero cons.
Big picture: it used to look way worse; huge props to CD PROJEKT RED for how far it’s come.
