This game is as it promisses it crushes your spirit, when your heroes crit you feel hope, then you get the crit and feel pure fear, my first time in the Darkest Dungeon I thought I was ready with a full max level team max resources and legendary trinkets. The pure fear it gives you to see your heores die one after the other and have to sacrifice one so atleast one may escape.

As for the game quality, simple yet effective mechanichs. AMAZING narrator that lets you inmerse in the story. Very good music, not master pieces but they go with the game aura perfectly. Simple controls. The movement is very basic, sometimes you feel inspired to move, but at times you feel relief when you move and there are no enemies.

As for the Lore, it's good and the diaries add a good portion to it, but i feel like it should have more unique missions or cutscenes.

If I had to say a problem with the game it's really the RNG though it sometimes helps you most times it feel like loosing your legendary hero in the first room due to a 98 damage crit is a bit unfair. Some enemies feel absurdly difficult, like the Unclean Giant or a grup of Pelalgic Spearman. But all of this adds to the ambient of the game, it makes you regret going for more loot, but if you're victorius you feel pure hope.

probably the best pseudo-classic RPG I've ever played, at least the best psicological horror game I've played in a very long time
