I'm home.

After following dev but hearing nothing about stability and FPS I was worried a bit. Original Rome runs like ass on modern day (AMD) systems with huge lag in big battles and sieges. The first thing I did when the game unlocked was start a huge siege in Rome itself and do a field battle. No lag, good frames. Bliss.

I can finally go back to enjoying the game that I loved during my childhood, without having the actual FPS I had in my childhood!

Now, if you'll excuse me I will go back to playing the game as it is meant to be played. As Macedon, Light Lancers and phalanx cheese in city streets. See you in a thousand hours.

It's a good remaster. But I don't know if I'm just better at the genre or the game is too easy.

It's what I wanted from Warband and more.

Great for building your own narrative.

So far it feels like I'm playing COD4 with a COD2 skin with CSGO type behind the scenes mechanics.

If the devs can continue to improve this game, I will continue to support it. First impressions are favourable!

Loved it when I was a child. Played all factions countless of times.
Sadly it runs like crap on Ryzen 1600 + RX580 build. Campaign map gets 50+ FPS but battlemap gets 20 on battles and 6(!) on sieges.

But I guess it makes me relive my childhood even more realistically.

Giving it a firm "no" to give other AMD users a heads up.

Hard but rewarding. Don't let the playtime fool you, I got it in the past from itch.io.
A very fun, fast game. The practice mode is a good addition, be sure to use it before starting your real games.

Pro's:
- Fast
- Good looking (if the artstyle is your bag)
- Rewarding
- Runes!!!

Con's:
- Very hard monsters at times. Especially at the start.

My wife plays it and she enjoys it. Yes, it crashes a lot and it could really need a few updates, but if you can snag it on a sale you can get your Catan fix. Recommended price in current state would be like, 5 EUR.
