Beautiful first person shooter with massive objective based battles, solid armor combat, and some really well fleshed out shooting mechanics. It's the only game whose battles I could genuinely describe as epic - they're on a scale that you don't see in almost any other FPS, and it is always easy to find some exciting combat. It's fun enough just playing as an individual dingus runnin' around shooting whatever moves, but when you want to try hard and make a difference in the fights, you absolutely can.

It's surprising to me that this game isn't bigger - they've got something really great on their hands

I absolutely, totally, and exhaustingly adore this game. It's a perfect blend of entertaining, challenging, rewarding, fascinating, and educational. The core game alone is fantastic, but has some faults. Thankfully a massive modding community fills in those gaps and adds an almost unlimited amount of customizability and content.

The only criticism I can leverage toward the devs is that they haven't invented a time machine so that I could've played as a kid. This game alone would've been enough to convince me to study aerospace engineering.

There is no game that I can recommend more enthusiastically than Kerbal Space Program.
