Suuuuper buggy. It's the original game and is fun, but man have bugs made it a slog.

Negative reviews are super biased. I almost freaked out about buying this because of them, but this game (only played 1 so far) is a CRISPY beautiful remake. I have had no issues (playing with xbox controller) and get 144 frames steady with my 3070. It looks like a new game (albeit with oldish textures). The people whining about their weird monitor resolutions or whatever have review bombed this game unfairly. It's exactly what I had hoped for.

This game was a 10/10 when it came out. It's still that good of a game (if you like dnd style gameplay) but I spent like 2 hours modding it into something reasonable by today's standards. Probably the best way to play this is still to find an OG XBOX and get the original experience, but if you're willing to put the time in to download all of the HD textures, resolution fix, and gameplay fixes, it's still a 10/10 game to me. Bioware is missing out on millions not doing a remaster of some kind.

Great game - couldn't get into it when I got it a few years ago but there have been HUGE quality of life changes and tutorials added to make everything in this game less overwhelming. I can't recommend it enough, especially with a friend or two, but be aware that story quests don't really let you party at first, which is a fairly big oversight to me. Finally, the game now offers you high-level gear when you start to help you "catch up" to iceborne, but I think that's a terrible design choice, and it will trivialize the beginning of the game if you take the weapons and armor. Enjoy the journey, make new weapons, and have fun learning the game and weapons the way it was designed, or I imagine iceborne will probably be pretty tough anyway!

I really wanted to write this review after agonizing over this game for some time, and I hope this is helpful to people.

I really looked forward to this game after being a huge fan of recettear, and hoping for a newer, more polished "sequel" so to speak. The game was released, I bought it, and then a lot negative steam reviews poured in. I didn't have time to play it when I bought it, and then the reviews pushed it to the back of my list because I was unsure about whether it was worth my time.

Well, the reviews are absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game is objectively better than recettear in every way with a similar formula. Not only that, it costs the same and is being updated. How, then, does recettear have an "overwhelmingly positive" review meta and this game has a "very positive/mostly positive" review? I have no clue. The people in reviews whine about how they "don't know" what to price things at. Okay? That's how life works. You find a new thing and you see what the market wants. People say the combat is clunky. That's a fair complaint, but 1) it's better than recettear, and 2) it's not especially clunky. A lot of overhead 2D games have things like backswing and recoil (which is what people are referring to when they complain about the combat), and that just means you can't treat it like zelda or isaac and just spam your attack. There isn't some souls-level of gameplay depth, but some enemies are better approached in certain ways or with certain weapons. That doesn't mean the combat is "bad."

This is a GOOD game. It's not going to win game of the year, but this game is better than the reviews here would lead you to believe, and if you are a fan of recettear at all, this is certainly a no-brainer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and I wish steam reviews weren't written by angsty 12 year olds who ♥♥♥♥ on anything that isn't literally the best game they have ever played. 8.5/10

Absolutly amazing experience. Is not frustratingly hard like some adventure games are where they expect you to just randomly walk around for a long time until you accidentally do the right thing. Story was very interesting and the entire game was beautiful. I can't wait for part 2.
