For a game about something as vast and mysterious as the ocean itself, Abzu lacks depth. Bad puns aside, the only real thing I enjoyed about this game was its graphics. They're beautiful to behold and clearly took a great deal of effort to make. However, other than nice graphics, there really isn't a whole lot of substance in this glorified swimming simulator. Each underwater area that you explore in Abzu has the same stuff to do as the last area, albeit with subtle variations. Combined with a nonexistent plot and the absence of a clear objective, this repetitiveness results in a very shallow experience that gets boring quickly.
