[UPDATED: November 25, 2021]

HelloGames is a team that continues to deliver on their ethics, showcases their devotion through consistency and quality!
Admittedly, even I never thought that quality-of-life development would continue to this point, WELL beyond the "redemption" threshold that the developers felt the need to set for themselves to further satisfy those who felt that the original launch content was less than stellar.
Commending the H.G. studio for their devotion to multiple projects simultaneously, is also in order & well overdue! Captivating the masses with "The Last Campfire" while continuing to not only improve "No Man's Sky" w/ patch iterations, but flagship/feature updates as well WITH same-day & on-going patches from live drops. Purely immaculate levels of devotion!
"No Man's Sky" will always be a cemented install in the library, never to be remotely considered for deletion to make space for anything else.
I’m glad & honored to have purchased and supported from (Pre-)Day-One.

DO NOT BE DETERRED BY NEGATIVE REVIEWS - THIS is...

An AMAZING game for such individuals who highly appreciate beautiful scenic landscapes, lone & vast exploration while uncovering lost/unknown information that builds upon story elements, having complete freedom without hand-holding. Despite the negative reviews about this title, my expectations were exceeded, still are. That being said, my standards aren’t low and it’s not that I have a liking for unfinished/broken creations. It is simply the fact that the accusations of lies being told and ‘this & that’, do not pertain nor contribute to my perception of the game.

I was not among the crowd which followed every little detail of the game up until its release. When No Man's Sky was first revealed in the form of in-game footage, my interests peaked while expecting nothing more than what I initially saw (even less-so what I saw) because I tend to keep in mind the process of game development. At times there are postponements to better a game, drawbacks and sacrifices must be made in other situations. Nevertheless, please do not confuse this for a defensive review of the game. This is simply an explanation as to why and how the game appeals to some and yet, displeases others. Perspective.

To this day I still immerse myself in the game and enjoy its offerings. Of all of the hours I've spent playing, I've only visited and fully explored about 37 planets.

The only gripes that I have about the game are that we aren't given FULL control of our ships. Manual landing, low-flight maneuverability, etc.. The ability to sit motionless while in the void of space rather than only be able to reverse and move forward, has been added in recent updates, which allows for port traffic viewing without motion/orientation correction and other nifty positional advantages. Many early-players will not remember that the ability to call/summon our ships to us wherever we may be on the same planet without having to visit a particular beacon/summon-point, was not always a feature; we now have this set to our “hotbar/toolbar”. There are still little things that leave me wanting and wondering if there are ever going to be remedies/improvements for small missing pieces without having to turn to heavy modification of the game.

All-in-all, “No Man’s Sky” remains to have my heart. Not just the game, but everything that it took to make even what was initially delivered possible. The Hello Games development team went through a great deal of turmoil and almost lost all of their effort and time put into a dream-work that they pushed to make a reality. I OVERLY commend the team for placing their efforts into the game for so many years post-release.
I’ll always say that what was delivered in the beginning was enough for me, meaning every syllable of it. So I’ll be THAT much more grateful and appreciative of every additional step that HelloGames takes, displaying their levels of love and devotion for their passion project and the community.

Early Access Review
Intriguingly intricate crafting & survival elements. Tides can turn at any given moment. Battle Royal is quite refreshing, coming from (assumingly) hours of foraging, scavenging, & minding your six, Battle Royal is a mode that requires players to be on their A-game & never delivers a dull moment. IF, one were to compare this to the long-running, Day Z, THIS would the upgrade of that by TEN FOLD ! And for H1Z1 to only be in its ALPHA phase of development... I have two syllables... IM-PRESSED !
