My overall impression of Stellaris is just absolutely fantastic. Of course, there are some minor flaws in the game, but they're too small to be bugging in the slightest. If you like strategy, fantasising over distant worlds and are enthusiastic about everything outside our puny Earth, Stellaris is the game for you. But a quick heads-up, I mainly discuss some controversial topics from the 2.0 update in this review.

Since the recent launch of update 2.0 reviews have been exceptionally poor for Stellaris, just take a gander at the review graphs for the game. Though I do believe that said negativity was not wholly undeserved, 2.0 brought quick and radical changes to the table, this amount of hate is unjust.
To be brief, before 2.0 the game was in a lot of ways 'easier'. You'd just bunch all your military spacecraft in one giant fleet called a deathball and either win or lose in one single battle. So much for an armed conflict of stellar proportions. Since 2.0 you actually need to manage and command more because there's a cap on how packed your fleets can be. A welcome change, I say.
Another major thing they altered was how expanding your -and claiming your enemy's- territory works. You now need to claim system by system and think about what your every next move is going to be instead of just mindlessly placing down an outpost that would cover about eight of them. This also prevents a weird 1.9 'feature' from occuring where your borders would just be pushed back by the expansion of neighbouring civilisations with the risk of losing entire systems. At least now you get what you paid for.
Also, they made it so that hyperlanes, aka space roads, are the standard mode of transportation which provides more consistent and logical gameplay. But no worries, there are still wormholes and gateways for you to explore that still can swing you thousands of light years across the galaxy.

All in all, Stellaris before 2.0 was good already, but the 2.0 update made everything even better. So a most definitely recommended game for me! I can't grasp that people want to get back to 1.9 and its constant inconsistencies.

I guess you could say this snapping cool game left me hanging with quite the cutting edge experience.

I slammed my keyboard, threw my mouse and cursed the damned game,
Yet I only pushed myself further, who else was to blame,
I kept getting back to what I dispised, this unforgiving hell,

OverLook, Paladins of the Storm, League of Paladins, Palastone, Team Paladin 2, all apply to this game.

You'd expect a game that is 'made' with 'small' 'hints' to Overwatch, HotS, LoL, Hearthstone, and TF2, to be absolutely amazing, but it's not. In fact, this mess is terrible to say the least, just like the bots you can only play against.

Got attacked by a flock of 20-odd pimps.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, if you couldn't tell yet.

Damn... This game is just magnificent, I love the artwork, the story is very well written but can also be very depressing.
I've played my first try at the story line, and, I'll spare you the details, eventually ended up sending everyone one by one into their death. What makes this game so excellent, is that it really let's you bond with the characters, and then starts taking them away, one by one.
