Early Access Review
I always enjoyed zombie games and this one scratches the "realistic enough" itch I always had.

Bought this on sale with a friend near the end of 2020. We've had plenty of fun ever since then. It looks slightly better than Fallout 4 (in turn, it performs a bit worse but still fine, at least in my case with a 980Ti in 2k), has some QoL upgrades and in its current state it is infinitely better than it was at launch, from what I've seen.

The amount of enemies is vastly superior when compared to Fallout 4. Appalachia is a beautiful map, which can be taken advantage of with photomode. The dialogues work like 3/NV instead of F4 (thank God). The C.A.M.P. system is pretty cool and I hope it continues in some way in the future instead of only fixed settlements like Fallout 4.

The game is not without flaws, obviously. You probably heard what a nasty attempt for a game this was upon release - and let's not even mention preorder controversies. The game was clearly not ready when it came out. It still has occasional bugs, but I didn't suffer anything gamebreaking in my first 50+ hours. The game seems to have been void of content upon launch but now my friend and I are constantly overwhelmed with plenty of quests to do. The original quests (meaning, the ones at launch) are rather boring, essentially a goose chase of holotapes here and there. On the other side, the newer quests (the ones with NPC) are much more fun.

Depending on your rig, performance might be an issue. My friend has a rather humble rig such that on a previous free weekend he could hardly even start the game but took a dive when it was on sale and it now works, even if at minimum settings.

In general, if you don't consider yourself much of Fallout fan I'd do deeper research, more than what a mere review could tell you. Perhaps try it with a friend. If you like Fallout, and specially if you liked Fallout 4, this game won't disappoint you. It's essentially an online Fallout 4.5.

Easy to learn, hard to master. All playstyles are welcome, whether you wish to play casually for fun or seek to improve your skills and achieve new heights in competitive modes. A must have.
