As with all DLC for any game , don't expect as much game play time as the base game itself. 5 Missions and depending on your style of play will determine just how long you get out of this. I was kind of worried that the "Wild West" sort of theme would have changed a lot of the basics of the game and there was nothing really different apart from the sounds and a few cosmetic changes and a few new traps. If priced at say £10/$10 then its worth a buy to get a bit more play time out of the game , but would not justify paying anything over that price point for 5 maps. If like me you enjoyed the base game, you should enjoy this DLC :)

Bought this game in the hope it would bring back the same enjoyable type of game that Dungeon Keeper/2 was years ago. To date this is the best game of its type and i have tried a few. If there is anything that i could complain about in this game is that it is over engineered. The upgrade paths for everything is just too expansive and you end up feeling like you are playing a managerial/sim type game rather than a straight out dungeon brawler. Resource management and levelling up was always part of Dungeon Keeper , but it was not as in your face as what it is in this game. Lots of the upgrade choices seemed quite pointless during gameplay , while others were a necessity . Would still recommend it though, even although its quite hard to work out if its a dungeon builder, rpg, or sim/managerial game at times.

Got this for free on the giveaway :) . To begin with, the game feels old. It can pass graphically but its more the mechanics of the game that let it down. Things you can do on other FPS games like jump up on tables or other objects in the world are not possible in this game. It's a game that makes you believe there is more depth than there actually is. Apart from flicking a few switches are jumping on a car on rails there is very little interaction with other objects in the world. Then sometimes you get 1 bullet kills on beasts that then takes 12 bullets on an identical beast 2 seconds later, and its nothing to do with headshots :P . Then the real gripes are where you reach points in the game where the enemy units are inactive , when they should be shooting at you. Lots and lots of crashes at various points in the game , or when the enemy just becomes frozen on the spot and makes the game just a walkthrough . Shame really as the game has been out for 10 years and getting these types of bugs a decade down the road does not fill you with any confidence on the team/s behind the game. I have played just under 5 hours of the game and reached the car on rails part, giving up here as the game is just too flaky to enjoy properly. Uninstalling and glad that it never cost me a penny as it fell way short of being enjoyable :( . Just for info , been running it at 4K on an RTX 3090ti . Taking my lighter out now to uninstall :)

I pre ordered this game expecting great things (Like the original COH) . Maybe this game shines on multiplayer , but that is something that does not interest me in the slightest. COH2 was a step down in the campaign mode and this just feels like a repeat of that. I`m not a fan of the tactical map on COH3 either. A Good campaign with a set path and different surroundings would be great. From the couple of hours that i have played the campaign, i have fought about 6 battles and it's the same map over and over again and it feels like you are not really achieving anything ........... its pretty boring stuff.

Anyone that's not touched this franchise and fancy a decent campaign game that actually feels a bit like a real war then buy COH the original. Maybe my view will change on this game with further gameplay but my initial feeling with this game on the campaign mode is like 3/10 . Too samey / feels nothing like a campaign / Unrewarding and certainly not worth the wait. Shame really as the original is one of my all time favourite games :(

Where to start ........ It's SLOW , gives you no direction as to what kind of things to research. The game has no character and even when you reach some form of achievement is does not feel rewarding. If your life is really that boring and you fancy decontaminating a toilet and fighting a wild boar , then this game is for you. Maybe its just me , but there are games that are over 20 years old that play better and leave you feeling good at the end of a gaming session. Only installed this as it was on a free play week thing and hoped it was better than surviving mars that i actually purchased and also disliked.

Bought this at a sale price of around £11 . Bargain at that price. Bit buggy here and there but overall one of the best games of it's type. At a sale price i would recommend it :)

Never found this expansion as enjoyable as the base "Spellforce 3". Bonus was it was not full of bugs that the original was released with. Looks gorgeous and enjoyed it overall 7/10 ....

Bought this in the sale, glad i never at full price. Slow and repetative and lacks anything that's in a proper RTS. This might be better recognised as a "Time Management" game.

Bought this thinking that it would be a similar style of game to Spellforce 3. In some ways it does try and imitate the same mixed RPG/RTS that spellforce 3 has, but makes a very poor job of it. Seen others that compare Ancestors to Company Of Heroes, it falls way short of that too. Im going to be quite fair to the game and say that it might have been more fun if it had arrived about 8 years ago. Falls short of anything thats being released just now. Campaign is not very "Intuative" at points and leaves you quite clueless as to how to complete the tasks. I would rate it 5/10, but only if it was going for less than £10 GBP/EUR. Take another point away for each £5 above that price. If your going to purchase, just make sure its at a budget price :)

Game itself is good , but sadly (on release date) the game has many faults and bugs. Visuals are great and the gamplay itself is very smooth and immersive, with a good story line.

Bugs that i have encountered personally. Steam overlay does not work with this game , so no screenshots or chatting with your mates while you play. Heard a message via steam messenger when playing and used alt-tab to reply to message. Then when selecting game window again, caused my pc to reset :/

Sound is all over the place, cinematics are not at the same level as the game. Plus the all important task of being able to hear where the enemies are is "impossible". Despite trying the 3 sound modes in the game audio settings, you are still clueless where enemies are/coming from and find yourself being killed by something right beside you (that's silent).

If its not in your field of vision , then you are kinda snookered :(

Also doing simple tasks within the game itself can be a bit annoying "Fueling the Helicopter" sounds simple , but its not marked on the map and i spent about 20 mins just locating the thing before i could do the task,

This could have been a really great game, but with the bugs that i have encountered it feels like its been a bit rushed for release.

Percentage wise , i would give it 60% ...... Good singlplayer fps, but not in the same league as Halflife 2 , only getting 60% as im deducting 15% for the terrible sound problems and another 5% for the other bugs (crashes/steam overlay).

Otherwise it would have got 80%
