This game turns 10 years old today. While some might say it was a disappointment for a variety of reasons, despite the fact that the game had up to two games worth of content cut out, it's still a masterpiece that has left a lasting impact on the video game industry and popular culture as a whole, solidifying the BioShock franchise as a cultural phenomenon. Infinite's themes are complex and thought-provoking. The game explores issues such as American exceptionalism, class struggle, and the nature of reality. These themes are woven into every aspect of the game, from the story to the visuals to the music. BioShock's willingness to tackle difficult topics and its thought-provoking approach to storytelling in incredibly idealized, hyperbolized cities and societies is absolutely unique. BioShock games are monumental art.
