It's a well built game with decent gunplay, and fun cameos (although almost everyone is phoning it in hard). However, it's made by devs who won't stand by their biggest supporter in the face of an unsourced old-media smear. If you have to try it, get it on sale.

I like this. I've been playing since Early Access (though not frequently and certainly not competitively), and while it's one of the least forgiving games I've played, it's also one of the most enjoyable.

Plus the increased detail versions of the costumes from the show look great

[edit post 2.0 patch: I regret to say this game has been changed beyond all recognition, and I neither enjoy nor approve of the changes. The only reason I will keep it installed is for cosplay reference. ]

I only installed after the 3rd September patch, so I never experienced the major problems of earlier players. I also am running on near-max settings on a new PC, but *not* max resolution (as the monitor isn't new). I have not experienced any crashes that weren't due to a fault on my PC and did not notice any major graphical issues.

The story was good, but had a few elements I didn't like much - where the player was railroaded into making bad choices to keep the game moving, and the 'right' choice wasn't sold enough to the player to make it seem like anything other than a forced choice/false dichotomy. Characterisation was great, including some great references to the DCAU (esp. the Batman Beyond movie) and one of the best ever performances by one of the recurring cast members (deliberately vague here, but anyway).

Regarding the release debacle, I hope WB Games and Rocksteady learn from this, and that the company that did the port originally finds something else to do that they're more competant at. Perhaps they should try catering. Personally I find it lamentable that the game passed QA and was released in that state, but find the poor initial response from WB Games (not to mention some 3rd parties droning on about 'entitled PC losers') utterly reprehensible.

The game is recommended to fans of the comics, the series, and especially fans of the DCAU. Not recommended to people with older PCs or that need their games to run flawlessly at the best possible settings on the biggest possible screen.
