the game is great fun for what it is. it's a little grindy, a little cash-grabby, but if you just enjoy the naval gameplay for what it is, the game is fun. battles are generally pretty quick with the longest being 20 minutes, but I find that that doesn't happen too often. the pace of the battles is quite slow, so if you are not a fan of twitchy fps style gameplay, then you may like this. everything is much slower and strategical and on some ships the reload time of your guns is around 30 seconds, so you have plenty of time to think and plan your next shots.

Each archetype of ship plays quite differently so there is a nice variety of options when it comes to how you want to play. You got the big beefy battleships, the lighter but faster cruisers, stealthy destroyers, and the aircraft carriers which is the most unique when compared to the other ship types. Each nation's ships have their own strengths and weaknesses too, even within the same archetype. For example, German Battleships are quite different from US Battleships.

All in all it is an entertaining game that masks its mobile-like moneymaking mechanics, but if you don't mind grinding ships and enjoy the gameplay then it won't be much of an issue. You can easily play this game casually without putting any money into it.
