As far as I can tell, Elden Ring will be a masterpiece among masterpieces when it's playable without crashes and rampant stuttering. Pick it up on Xbox or PS5 if you can but wait for a patch if you're dead set on PC.

Update: PC performance has improved enough that I feel comfortable recommending the PC version to anyone with 2000 series RTX or greater. I think some of the remaining stuttering might be tied to VRAM bandwidth, meaning it should be lessened by reducing resolution or, to a lesser extent, overclocking VRAM.
