I have had experience in most of the persona games, and many other JRPG besides. I dont know what it was about this game that caught my attention to such a degree but as I grow older I find it harder and harder to find the attention to finish a game now. This game grabbed me and I didnt put it down or play another game till I had 100% this one.

Some of the negative reviews have good points, but as is the way of things, everyone has different criteria, and for me this worked.

Loved the game.

I am an avid lover of the first game. Played both on initial release and on steam re release. This game is more of what you love, and if you didnt like the first you will likely not like this one.

the complaints about "paid dlc items" are all just people whining and not spending the time in the game to even try to get them. By the time you are at the first major town, if you have spent ANY amount of time looking around and actually playing the game, then you will likely have the RC to buy what you want.

Most pawns cost more rc than the DLC items. I have spent over 1000 RC on some good pawns, and made that back in about 2 hours of play.

So if you were looking forward to this game, likely you are playing and enjoying. The DLC can be ignored.

If you care about fast travel, there are Oxcarts you can hire for gold, and the stones you can use to teleport that cost RC which again is completely gain-able in game just through casual play.

I dont normally review games, but the outcry is insane, and with the state of the industry right now, we dont need to be crying out and making capcom layoff a whole team that poured time into this that we asked for. We dont want capcom to look at the 1000s of refunds from people that bought the game just to agree with their favorite streamer, review the game, and then refund it in order to have left a review bomb.

Play it for yourself, set a timer for an hour and 40 min, actually give the game your time and a chance, and if when that timer is going off you have not been enjoying yourself, then refund it. But if you didnt even install the game, or only got 10 min into it before you refunded, you dont know what the heck you are talking about.

I have played a lot of action rpg, and love diablo and diablolike games, and this game scratches a lot of the same itches while adding a lot of good quality the genre has been lacking lately. The cienimatic feel and single playability of the game is very nice, and it has tons to do since the game has been out in korea for 2 years already. If you enjoy path of exile, torchlight, or diablo, this game will be a good fun time for you.

Early Access Review
enjoyable, early access of course, but enjoyable. Shaping up to be a good game, though as is the way, I do wish I could move just a TAD bit faster than the base walk speed at game start.

God I love this game. Like I honestly think that it has the best art direction of all the games, and the amount of hate it gets from a lot of the ff community is kind of odd. Like, its a quality game, and has a decent story, with tons of ♥♥♥♥ to do.

But ♥♥♥♥ vaan. He sucks.

Visuals: 5/5
Story: 4/5
Controls (non vr): 4/5
Gameplay: 4/5

Firstly I would like to say I have been interested in this game since I saw mark play the first version of it way back when it was all gray and missing textures. This has come a very long way since then, and is fantasticly animated. The voice acting and humor were well done, and the overall experiance from atmosphere to gamedesign was an enjoyable experiance.

Very well worth the cost, as I have played 10$ games that were not as fun as this.

5/5 Visuals: The look of the game feels polished, and has its own style that adds to the essence of this game and builds on its playability. I had trouble the first few times cleaning the foot because I wanted to just LOOK at the game and explore the house.

4/5 Story: The story being based on that of a real mythic creature from Japanese folklore, it has basis and isnt just some silly "theres a foot in your house? what?" Though it being just that and thats it felt a little out of place. Like, maybe when you complete the game at certain time gates or get an achiement, have a galery unlock that gives you more back story about the giant foot. Because a lot of people seem to think its just... a giant foot.

4/5 Controls: The controls are pretty basic movement controls, grab item, and use item, but on the use of the items is where it gets a little confusing. Some things have odd hitboxes, like the flyswatter, and the garden sheers. I had the most trouble killing the flys, but otherwise the controls are smooth.

4/5 Gameplay: The gameplay is great! Its quick, fun, you dont stand around doing nothing unless you are trying to loose. The tools are easy to find, and you get right into the thick of cleaning the big foot. Where the 4 comes from is in the fact that the gameplay is about 30-45 min before you are wishing there was more to do. This isnt a critisism or a gripe so much as a wish. I WANT more to do, I WANT to clean the foot in diferent ways, in different places. Like , have him bust through a different house, in the garage, durring a dinner party, at school. I dont know, but I just want more.

All in all, a fun game that you can play to keep the tides of boredom at bay. Loved the time I spent with it, and had a great time playing.

Early Access Review
Been playing stonehearth for some time now. Devs are great people and listen to their audience. They are fast paced at fixing issues and listen when you give advice. The game itself is amazing, even in early stages like this. With each new alpha the game grows phenomenally, and gives you so many additional things to do. It has it's bugs yes, but its early access and people need to remember that. If you bug out, read into it, find out if its common, and talk about it. We have the opportunity to form this game and make it what it is that we all want to play. Give the devs your ideas, but remember. They are gamers just like us, and want to help end our boredom and give us something great!
