I've played Dwarf Fortress for years on and off, always wanting to be able to crack it but finding it too esoteric with the keyboard only UI it had. I put it on my wishlist as soon as it popped up on Steam.

I bought it to give the developers some well deserved money and the interface they built has completely changed the accessibility of the game without losing any of the depth and fun. As someone with relatively little success, I have been able to build up from a small fort into a proud Mountainhome. It has been an awful lot of fun and it's really been some of the most fun I have had with a game for as long as I can remember.

If you like colony sims and have heard of the granddaddy of the genre but couldn't get a handle then I strongly advise you to give it another go. One of the best games ever made.

Early Access Review
I bought this game when it first came to Steam, and found it to be an interesting concept, but lacking in content. Since then the developers have consistently added new content and mechanics and it a great game now.

With the new multiplayer expansion it's so much more alive. It's great to interact and explore with friends. I couldn't recommend it enough and can't wait to see it grow further. It is also worth mentioning that there is an active modding community that adds a bucket load of new weapons, armour, vehicles as well as new mechanics. A great addition to a great product.

I've always been interested in city sims, but struggled to get in to them. Most of my efforts have ended in disaster. With Cities: Skylines, there was so many accessible tutorials online I felt more confident than ever. I tried the vanilla game I'd had for ages and really enjoyed it. Within a week I had bought a bunch of DLC to let me make my green town a reality.

So much fun, such a great stress reliever. Would strongly recommend if you like order and structure blended with creativity and beauty.

Loop Hero has an excellent gameplay loop, and is genuinely fun. It's pretty in its own way, and I've had a lot of fun with it.

This is the first football manager I've played since FM14 and quite a bit has changed. Whilst some things like the social feed are a little unpolished, the game is very accessible overall.

On previous versions I'd always download a tactic off the internet and just use that but I've taken the time to play with the system and gotten a few things that work. Whilst I'm not the best tactician in the world the advice from your coaching staff is very helpful.

The game is well worth buying and is a real time sink.
