hidden gem title for sure. im a big fan of roguelikes/lites with 500+ hours in titles like Risk of Rain 2 and this hits every checkbox for me. its deep enough to be engaging but simple enough to understand from the very beginning and to be able to start having fun in the first run. broken builds, great auditory and visual feedback and plenty of mechanics to master.

my only "complaints" would be the clunky UI, such as when swapping tabs in the character menu or the fact that (as far as i know) all of the npc's you interact with have both a "hello" prompt and a "goodbye" prompt, meaning 2 extra button presses for every time you sell or buy an item at a vendor. very minor issues that doesnt take away anything from the experience.

ive played a little less than 5 hours and can already tell it's a great title and would recommend to anyone remotely into roguelikes and/or bullet hell games. this is a fantastic mix of both and for the price it's an obvious purchase, even at full price.

the definitive idle game. it has gotten a massive amount of new features and updates since i played it back in 2013-2014. its just as addictive as back then. while it is still available on the web for free, its worth the measly 5€ asking price just for cloud saves alone.

a fantastic title to have running on a second monitor or open up once in a while to buy new upgrades. the excitement when you wake up to check your progress overnight never seems to wear off.

right off the bat ive spent 30 minutes just trying to reset my PSN account. it said wrong password/username so i reset it. it still said wrong password, so i reset it. i did this 5 more times. after the 6th or 7th time i got in, and got a lovely "your account has been locked, recover your account to login". got this twice before giving up, even after recovering my account. i bought this game to play co-op, so not signing in is not really an option.

EDIT 1 june 2024:
after 15+ attempts at resetting my password, getting "success, you can now sign in" for each one and still not being able to sign in, today i tried a shorter password. it now works. playstation has a hidden limit to how long a password can be, and silently fails if you exceed it. this might be the dumbest thing ive ever come across from such a massive company. ive wasted a week on this. now i just have to get past "Failed to initialize Playstation PC SDK" in the actual game so i can sign in and finally play co-op.

quite simple roguelike with permanent weapon unlocks. arena/stage shooter. enter room, kill enemies, pick reward.
sound design is really great and impactful, movement is crisp and its simple enough to just pick up and go.

difficulty scales pretty well too, with additional, optional difficulty modifiers for a better "medal" if you manage to get a win.
it seems updates are being pushed quite often. every time ive taken a longer break i come back to new items and weapons.

the memes was actually a reason i held off from getting it for a while but ignoring that, as just a roguelike title, its really solid and well made. for the price theres no reason for any roguelike/lite fan to not give it a go.

the most rewarding racing game ever made with a seemingly non existent skill ceiling. endless variety and a healthy competitive scene.

literally unplayable in co-op. couldnt do the planning mode yesterday, and now after the "fix" the AI is completely broken and the save game is unloadable because it's from an older version. 45 minutes spent trying to brute force our way through the level while the save points were at the worst possible points, crippling the save game. movement works only half of the time. we got stuck multiple times not being able to move at all. it seems like the co-op isnt synced at all. you can swap characters, but only on your screen. the other player becomes stuck in limbo.

we were both genuinely excited to play this and bought it as soon as we saw it out. i hope i can recommend this in a couple of months.

fun when it works, but rarely does. servers are terrible and have disconnected me and my co-op partners on the last round 5+ times. hoping the third game will work better

the switch function is broken and unusable- precision turning is not possible because you will accidentally switch (you steer using the triggers, and a double tap on the trigger switches).
performance is atrocious, its super clunky, animations are stiff and buggy so theres really nothing nice to look at either.
neither gameplay or the look of it is very good or fun.

replay editor is barely usable, spent 20 minutes trying to figure it out but gave up.

ive been looking forward to this game since the kickstarter ended, chcked their reddit and updates almost every day and the hype was endless. huge disappointment. hopefully they are better at patching their game than skater xl people are (EDIT: THEY ARE NOT).


update march 15 2024:
this game is a slap to the face to anyone who supported it on release, to everyone backing it on kickstarter and to whoever has been excited for this product for as long as i have.
it is still a broken, buggy, clunky mess just like on release day.

nothing has happened for years at this point. seems completely abandoned with no real updates from the developers other than "we're working on it", "we're currently hiring".

no animation fixes, no grabs, no gameplay improvements, no quality of life fixes. the only thing theyve released are new, PAID DLC maps which is really sad considering it has the best foundation out of all the current skating games out there by far.

trust me, i would absolutely LOVE to recommend this game, because it is the closest we have to a "true" skateboarding sim. it just is far far FAR away from being a finished product or even out of early access.

im supposed to write file locations with an american keyboard layout? uninstalled
