Sony actually listening to the player base and walking back the PSN account requirement was unexpected. Looking forward to playing more of the game as a result.

Early Access Review
Incredibly fun and satisfying rhythm game. The concept and gameplay are both very intuitive and lend itself to "getting into the beat" of the song. The rapid-fire "line" of shots feel great when they land. The only thing that holds this back from being among the "top" VR Rhythm games is honestly that it does not have as much community support as that more commonly known VR Rhythm Game. This results in fewer tweaks/game modes being available and fewer song choices by a noticeable amount. A drive towards encouraging and supporting community created songs and plugins would do well to drive this further into the competition for top slot VR Rhythm Game.

Early Access Review
This game is a prime example of continual failures and mistakes by its developers. Further, a notable example of how the "Early Access" has been continually abused and excused for the many poor decisions made by the developers themselves.

First, they release an "Expansion/DLC" for a fee while the core game itself is in Early Access (which it remains to this day).

Now, they jack up the price (again still in Early Access) since attempting to bait folks into Early Access DLC was so poorly received.

I wonder what their next attempt at scraping more money from this project will be. They'll do anything short of actually finishing the core game itself.

Once you get past the concept of "ooo, dinosaurs", you realize the game is ridiculously shallow and unfulfilling. Definitely would not recommend unless you can manage to snag it for $5 or less. Even then, expect to only have it hold your interest for a week or two.. No amount of money justifies the Expansion/DLC until such time that the core game is truly finished.

As a person who does not and has not used OpenIV in the past, even I can say what an absolutely horrific and abhorrent decision it was on Take Two/Rockstar/etc's part to target OpenIV. What a complete cop out and lazy action. If this is how they handle their user base, then the message is loud and clear -- they do not want my business. I'll make sure I don't give them any business ever again.

I didn't get on the Skyrim band wagon during its initial release. I had never heard of the Elder Scrolls series, and I thought it was some complex rigid RPG like I had played many times before.

After finally getting pushed into it despite attempting to resist the hype, it's grown on me significantly. Primarily, the freedom this game allows. Technically you can play the main story line and progress as if it were a rigidly constructed RPG, but (especially with mods) the game almost adapts to your play style.

Many people I know have never even "beat" Skyrim in terms of completing the main story. Many of those people have restarted characters countless times just to try out something different this go around. The fact that you can have so much fun without linear progression is what ended up making this game so enjoyable for me.

Unable to get past the account creation screen. I have a Square Enix account (I can login successfully at square-enix.com with it), yet it claims the login I'm entering is invalid. After giving up on that, I tried to just create a new account. The confirmation email never arrives so I can't actually create the account. So, I can't even get into the game much less play it.

EDIT: Finally was able to get things to work. It seems that there is an ID that is not apparent through any interface other than one particular login that you have to google search for. Only in that interface will it tell you your true unique ID (instead of your login email or login nickname).

[1] Go to: https://secure.square-enix.com
[2] Login with your normal account there
[3] Immediately upon logging in, you'll see the section with "Square Enix ID". That's your actual ID.

For example, my user id/name as far as I knew it was "JohnDoe", but the unique ID assigned to me (and what the FF XIV launcher was expecting) was "JohnDoe4". There was no way to determine this outside of randomly googling and coming across this particular login section. Straight up logging in at square-enix.com does NOT show the unique ID.

Something that further confuses the situation is that the launcher lets you "create" a new account all day long with your existing account's email, but won't tell you the account exists. It reacts by simply never sending a confirmation email to you (as seen by the many negative reviews).

TLDR: If you have a Square Enix account of any sort and can't get the login to work despite the login working at square-enix.com, follow the above instructions to find your TRUE square enix id and login to the game successfully.
