Played mostly with a friend or two but even as a solo experience while grinding for the last couple achievements I needed the game is a good kick back & relax game. Pick your favorite members of the One Piece universe and watch as their unique movesets decimate swathes of pirates and navy alike. A deep pool of characters to pick from (albeit with a couple members missing that I would've loved to see) keeps you refreshed and the progression system to upgrade their stats is neat. Lots of ability customization as well. Can't wait to see a 5th installment! Please add Enel as a playable character!

My expectations for DioField were honestly too high. I was hoping for a more robust experience but even with those shortcomings I still recommend the game if you're able to get it on discount.

The story can lean on tropes and have a level of predictability, but the way they handle cinematics between missions can also alleviate that by only giving you the information you need. A character might be mentioned by name but you won't get any more information than relevant to the story or to their character. On the other side of that coin just be aware there will also be a feeling of missing content where the game sets you up like you're going on some expedition that might take weeks. They mention the stress of splitting your party and you think you'll have multiple missions with these 2 groups. Not the case at all. You get 1 mission a piece and a small cutscene to bring the group back together.

The combat is fun. It's easy, don't get me wrong, but this is the majority of the game and it feels good to play. The abilities are satisfying to use and the weapon upgrades give you noticeable damage boosts. My biggest gripe is that you're really limited in how you combine those abilities. There isn't a huge amount of weapon diversity and abilities are bound to those weapons. You don't learn abilities any sort of way to carry them over to mix and match at will which can make you pigeon hole yourself into only using the same abilities for a type of unit.

Map design is okay but gets repetitive when you start getting later in the game and do many of the side quests. There isn't really that much enemy diversity either. Bosses can be unique with different abilities of their own but they telegraph for so long that the only way you get hit is if you just don't do anything at all.

The ending of the game had a cliffhanger feel to it, so I anticipate the story will be completed at a later date whether it be paid or free DLC but the bones are here for a good experience. I would just taper your expectations. This is like a 6/10 game you should by on sale to kill 20-30 hours if you pay attention to all the cutscenes. There is a new game plus mode but carrying over your levels and equipment means you can clear the following playthrough in a matter of a day.

This is my first rogue like game and it had me completely hooked from the start. Bought it on Steam and Switch so I could play it whenever I wanted while keeping my save via cloud. Gorgeous art, beautiful music, wonderful character and plotline. The gameplay loop feels extremely satisfying while you unlock all the different powers. Even beyond that, refining those decisions into powerful builds you love using for comfort or experimenting with new powers you don't usually go for this game keeps you coming back for hours.

Faithful remake of the classic Final Fantasy with a beautiful reskin that doesn't change the art style into an overly smoothed out or chibi art style. Being how old it is there may be some confusion at points in progression if you don't pay close attention to the things the NPCs say, but if you love RPGs that won't stop you from seeing the value in the simpler mechanics and old school sense of exploration.

I don't know that I've ever felt so touched by a main character in my life. I've played many RPGs over the years and this is a modern take with refreshingly nostalgic turn based combat, the abilities and classes are neat, but the story is unmatched even by Yakuza standards. Everything Ichiban does is because of his passion and love for his friends and family. You will feel that sentiment in everything you do as the character in this game
