In many ways the best Elder Scrolls, and in some ways rather bad.
Short bullet points:
  • The magic and enchanting system gives the player many intersting ways to build their character and roleplay, which is good.
  • The NPCs are rather static. They stand in place all the time and do not have the routines from later Elder Scrolls games, which is bad.
  • Loot you find in the world is NOT leveled. This means you can find the best weapons and armor in the game very early if you know where to go / stumble across it accidentally. This is both good and bad, as it allows for exploration to be rewarding, but also risks breaking item progression.
  • The main quest expects you to learn about the world around you and your place in it. The world is the most immersive from all the Elder Scrolls games. This is good.
  • Most NPCs can be killed without affecting quests, so the player is very free to solve problems their own way. Some NPCs are marked "essential" meaning they are important for quests, but the player is free to kill those as well. The game informs you that you've done something that will mess up the thread of fate, and prompts you to reload a save, or continue in this "doomed world" you've created. This is good.

Often new players are put off by the lack of quest markers and compass, and the fact that the combat doesn't have very much feedback -> this is true, but if you take your time to learn the combat mechanics, the combat is rather simple and rewarding.

It's Dragon's Dogma.
It's so very close to being excellent. Some thoughts:
  • Traversing the world is not fun. There's an oxcart taxi mechanic, but it leaves much to be desired. I wish there was a way to skip to a certain part of the route, rather than "doze off" and skip to a random part of the route, or the end, depending on the RNG.
  • Your followers can get infected by Dragon-Ebola, which makes them massacre townsfolk while your character sleeps. This bricks your save-file.
  • Loot is rather boring. I don't feel like the items have any reason being in the chests. They're just an arbitrary prize for exploring.
  • Quest progression is beyond stupid. Early-on you might encounter a side quest that takes you to a cave with a locked door. There's no way to open or circumvent the door aside from progressing the main story to a point where the door just inexplicably unlocks.
There are some nice side-quests that take you to cool places.
  • Optimization bad. FPS tanks in towns.

It's still Dragon's Dogma in essence. Combat is fun. Casting spells and hitting things is fun.
You're better-off waiting for possible patches. DD1 is still very much playable and goes to sale occasionally.

Very good.
The ending is buggy, though. Characters have a conversation and know things they should't.

Potentially a very great detective game.
Currently, it's not very deep. The game generates a city and then some cases according to an algorithm. The criminals do not really have any real motive to speak of.
You might have a worker in a company murder a coworker in the office, and when you go arrest him and ask why he did it you might get a response such as "Murder makes me strong".
It seems that the NPCs do not actually have any real reason to kill. They just get possessed by the game to do a murder and so murder they must.

It's very promising, but needs further work to "mask" the algorithm.

The power levels of the player character and enemies are much higher compared to other games of its type.

Often the screen is so filled with effects that it becomes very hard to see what's happening.
Also, sometimes the large explosions cause my eyes to hurt.
Having the player's effects be less intrusive as they grow in power would be good.

Feels like the game has a slight (major) identity crisis, but it's pretty good for the price.
It feels like the devs don't know if the game should be slow and tactical or fast.

There's elements that would fit in a slow and methodical shooter, such as reviving downed teammates, bleeding and having to stop it with bandages, combining empty magazines, claymores, LMGs needing to use bipod to really hit anything (you need to unlock it though???)(and it's really annoying to deploy) bolting a bolt-action rifle after firing.

Then there's elements that turn the game into a fast-paced shooter like insane movement speed and unlimited fast sprint, very fast SMGs, grenade spam, floaty BF-like armoured vehicles where the driver is also the gunner.

This results in a weird feeling game where no matter if you play fast or slow, the game clashes with that and it just feels off. No doubt it will be better if the devs make up their mind and polish the rough edges:
- The guns are pretty balanced to the point that they all feel rather similar which is bad.
- All the guns use the same firing sound.
- Deploying a bipod on a MG is very difficult because you have to line-up your character with the terrain and it rarely works the way you want it to. Recoil can push your gun too high which "detaches" the bipod. I would rather have a button to press and then click on the world and the MG would be set up there. Use
inverse-kinematics to handle my character.
- On the same note, recoil seems to be unaffected by stance. It's just as high when you're standing and when you're prone. I'd like if I could support my gun on terrain even without a bipod. The new CoD did this pretty well.
- Most sights in the game are very similar, they either use a red dot, a holographic circle with a dot in the middle, or a funky sight picture with lots of useless information.
- Unless you're using the PGO7 -sight for the RPG, which has a good aiming reticle but is somehow missing the very vital range-finder, making long range shots hard because the sight can't be used as intended.
- Non-sniper sights are classified into short- and medium- range sights. All sights in a given category use the same magnification. Some variance would be nice.

Backing the developers on Patreon gives you access to some cosmetic skins. One of these is a black net over the face for the sniper class. This gives you a real advantage in night maps and I consider that a form of Pay 2 Win.

Game is very clunky.
I don't like the police-station-hub. I wish I could just switch equipment and such from a crisp menu.
They even have such a menu almost in place, when you open the Tablet to look at your squad, but you can't change their equipment from there.

It simulated a steam engine.
I applied heat to a pot of water and then the wheel spun and made a nice sound.

I never played the Halo games until now, except Halo 1 which I played as a kid. The master chief collection includes all the main-line halo games until Halo 4 in a neat package.

There's an option to use remastered graphics that are toggleable via a keybind, but I don't personally like the look of them and prefer to use the original graphics. Also, in Halo 1 the remastered graphics cause a memory leak that eventually causes a freeze if you're using an AMD GPU.
Also, the Multiplayer is rather fragmented and cosmetic progression is annoying because the pieces you unlock are tied to the 5 different games, so if you're playing Halo 3 then the cosmetic pieces for Halo Reach aren't available to use.

The MCC currently costs 40€ which is a very good deal for 5 good games with some replayability.

It's good but buggy and has a greedy monetization system.
Also, while Blood Bowl 3 has an updated rules system compared to Blood Bowl 2, there are some vital features that are missing like upgrades being actually visible on your player characters. Also there are lesser teams to choose from.

I suspect visual mutations are cut because the devs couldn't get them to work with the bought cosmetics or they plan to sell the mutation cosmetics separately to make money.

Either way, this is shameful and doesn't make me want to buy their next game.
