It's cute, it's a neat idea, and it's free! I wish it supported windowed display though, since I only have 1 monitor and it only runs in fullscreen by filling it up entirely.

If for some reason MY opinion is what it takes for you to play this game, play this game. I have it on Steam, my phone, and a standalone desktop version, and I have probably put hundreds of hours into it between them. Ironically, this version is the one I have spent the least time on, but other than some mild annoyance at not having unlocked every deck or joker on here, I am still happy to play this game at nearly any time.
Rounds are quick, and if you turn up animation speed and keep your deliberation time short you can play entire games in 15-20 minutes, or you can spend an hour or more planning and plotting your way to victory. You can metagame your way into huge-scoring endless runs, or just get to round 9 and leave if you want. Heck, you can tackle all the 20 challenge runs before you even unlock all the standard decks if you want. It has a way of staying fresh even after months of replaying.

I saw a tweet about this game, so I had to play it for six hours. Then I talked to a friend of mine about this game so I had to play it for a further six hours. Then I looked at the H key on my keyboard so I had to play it for another six hours.

This game rules. I've owned and completed 3 different copies of it over the years. The port is a little whack, though.

The model rigging screws up every now and again in cutscenes making people's heads float around weirdly, the display options don't support playing in windowed mode, quitting the game sometimes logs my user account out on my computer and disconnects my wifi, which the game doesn't even use?

Even with a few goofy things it still runs pretty well, which is impressive for a 15 year old game. The graphics are rough... I mean yeah the game came out for the PS2 and was made to run stable instead of running pretty. I'd love a remaster or something, but Rockstar doesn't really do that. It's still a great time driving cars, flying jets, building your empire, and kicking back at a strip club where the ladies have fewer polygons than the minecraft guy.

It's good!
The art style is very good and it runs great. At the moment it's a little barebones and after winning once I didn't really want to start over again until there's more ship layouts to see. Because of the way the progression system works you're probably going to craft very similar weapons and upgrades over multiple runs, unless you're doing a restricted run.

EDIT: It's been out for a while now and the challenges system is in- I'm still not too excited to re-build every item again but under increasingly difficult conditions.

This game rules. Play reckless and fast or tactically plan out attacks, try for full completion in missions or rack up money in endless mode, zip around as a golf kart with a shotgun on top or lumber into battle as a 5-car-tall acid-breathing truckasaurus, spend your blood money on new mechs and weapons or unlock lore to about the world to read.

Every story mission gives you the choice of three different vehicles with completely different playstyles, keeping you from getting stuck if there's one specific death machine that isn't your style.

There's even a horn to honk. A TACTICAL HORN.

+ It's a good ass game
+ It's a funny ass game
+ It's a cheap ass game
+Anyone who hasn't played it before is in for a real treat
- It's just a ScummVM file, and nothing has changed from the 1997 version
- ScummVM's menu controls are annoying
- ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is 20 years old

I was pretty excited to see Monkey Island 3 on steam! I've already got the remastered editions on 1 and 2, but this is just a straight port of 3 and isn't changed in any way. It still uses ScummVM, so the controls for saving and loading are annoying and you probably won't even know how to save the game without googling it (It's the F1 key to bring up the menu- I hope your keyboard has an F1 key or you're out of luck). It would have been nice to have SOME added content, even if a graphical update would be pretty tough for this game since it's not pixel art like the previous ones. I might have not bought it if I knew it was just a Scumm player, since I already have a Scumm version of this game, but I'm still glad to have an excuse to play through one of my favorite adventure games again.

Had previously said I didn't recommend this game, but I'm changing it to yes, with a few reservations.

It's a fun and energetic game that I played like crazy after I got it working. I'm only missing one achievement, and I want to take a look at the workshop materials that are coming out for it. The music, art, and direction are all great. Even being short, the game is varied and the few parts that weren't great were usually only that way from achievement or collectible hunting. I have only myself to blame for having to play Dead Bird Studios over and over because I wanted the achievement for never being spotted.

The issues: The reason that I didn't originally recommend the game was just that it refused to run. I've now gotten the PC version working fine (a weird glitch every now and again, but nothing serious), but the Mac version is almost unplayable. It crashes at startup over and over, doesn't record achievement progress, and doesn't support controllers. The PC version even lets me go between controller and keyboard controls on the fly! From going between the two it's night and day- Both are running on i7 processors with SSD and 32gb of ram, but the Mac version can barely make it to the title screen, and chugs like mad after, crashing outright when certain effects pop up. Fortunately I'm not restricted to just that, and got to enjoy one of the best 3d platformers I've played in the last few years.

SO! As long as you aren't buying the Mac version, it's a must have.

IT'S GOOD. IT'S REAL DAMN GOOD.
Obviously what this massively successful, beloved, award-winning game that's been out for years needed to get over was a thumbs up from some dingdong with a rainbow steam avatar.

The pixel art is gorgeous, and is actually animated properly frame-by-frame, unlike most pixel-art games.

The music is amazing. I'm going to be humming the songs on and off for weeks.

The gameplay is polished across the board (even in the two additional free bonus campaigns). The main games are challenging but not unfairly hard, with the optional NG+ and challenge modes to up the difficulty. Literally my ONLY issue is that the game doesn't recognize the d-pad on my controller and forced the use of the joystick, which got a little weird on ladders and with Plague Knight's bomb jumps. There's probably a fix, but it wasn't enough of an issue to bother with.

Some friends of mine didn't like it, but I had a good time. It was a little weird and buggy at times. I might go back and beat it again to try out the different builds.

Some of the DLC content is annoying in that it pops up immediately and forces you into doing quests, even if you're doing your very first playthrough, and it makes the tutorial stuff all screwy. The first hour or so was just me being forced into DLC crimefighter missions and then being forced into tutorial missions, and then back to the DLC missions.
