Really captures the feel of Robocop, clearly made by people who watched and appreciated the original films, a breath of fresh air in a landscape where respecting original source material in general is heresy.

The combat is surprisingly fun and engaging. Due to Robocop's base strength, I wasn't expecting this game to be able to provide an adequate challenge, but it does it quite well, and provides you with a decent amount of abilities and drawbacks to make it fun for its runtime.

The Story is very Robocop, if you like the films, then this will be right up your alley. I can say that I was once again quite surprised by how much I was interested in the plot. At the beginning it's kinda slow, but it picks up a lot and gets super interesting. The writing has a bit of edge to it sometimes as well which was nice. There were a lot of points where I felt like I was in a movie which is always fun.

The acting for most of the characters is actually kinda mid, stand-outs are Murphy, and the main Villain, but most other characters are a bit too stilled for my liking, though I understand that it's kind of part of the experience, but I think it still could've been better overall.

Most of the characters aren't much to write home about, but again there are notable exceptions, those being Murphy, the main Villain, Ann, Olivia and Becker. Which is good considering they are major characters in the story, so it was fine for me.

The game looks great, and runs decently. There were no stutters in my experience, and performance in general was 60 fps average on max settings.

Overall a 7.5/10.

7.5/10:

+Better combat
+Better Enviroment diversity
+Better soundtrack
+Great set-pieces

- Worse performance (it gets pretty bad in a decent number of areas)
- Some cringe dialogue, sometimes less is more devs.
- Not enough Zoe, too much Kira
- Useless hub area after each chapter where you briefly talk to NPCs with worthless dialogue (except Zoe ofc ❤️ ), it messes with the flow of the game, please don't use it again in GR3.

Overall great game. Better than the first game in many ways, worse in a few other areas. It's been out for a while so they ain't fixing the performance, so just go in knowing that the performance can drop to the 40s in some zones, its enough to drop the game to a 7.5 for me, cos obviously they know the performance ain't good but they've already moved on, so I hope its better in GR3.

5/10:

-The art is really good,
-The soundtrack creates a tense atmosphere, and is appropriate to the setting.
-The writing is decent, but is far too technical in my opinion. Sometimes characters will just talk far too much and for too long, using jargon that can get grating to listen to over the course of the game.
-The performance is really bad, I think there's a micro-stutter every couple of minutes, and just massive stutters every 10 minutes or so.
-The game world has consistent texture issues on the ground, where it seems like two textures are colliding and you can see both overlapping each-other. How this hasn't been fixed by now is astonishing.
-The movement can by quite clunky, for some reason a lot of simple actions in the game require multi-step button presses, or sometimes they don't.
-I found myself getting lost quite a few times since the pathing for the player doesn't seem to be well thought out in the game world later on in the story.
-The mystery of the story is intriguing but the pacing still should've been tighter.
-The vehicle traversal was not well implemented, it doesn't feel great to control, and the world just doesn't seem equipped to handle the rendering of the textures as you're driving.

Above all else I just wish the performance was better. Earlier on it didn't bother me, but as I played the game it's like it got worse and worse to run. It didn't feel good to turn my camera and get a micro-stutter.

It's a shame because the art is good, and I really like the vibe of the game. It definitely has its moments in the story - a lotta nice screenshots - but the whole package is just a little too undercooked, which is crazy, since I'm playing the game post patches. I guess they didn't think the textures and performance was an issue.

Really good proof-of-concept. I hope it gets a fully fledged experience because I'm really excited to see more from this project.

Stuttery camera. No option to change keybinds. Incredibly limited graphical options. Mid performance. Yeah it's a bad console port.

Fantastic game, easily Game of the Year contender for me.

I bought this game randomly, expecting a 4-5 hour bit of throw-away entertainment, but instead, I thoroughly enjoyed a 15 hour adventure, where every single part was firing on all cylinders.

The game-play was incredibly smooth and addictive. If you've played the Doom franchise or shooters like it, then it'll feel pretty familiar, however, I think this game actually surpasses the combat loop in Doom/Doom Eternal, there's something about it that's a lot more free-flowing and responsive. There's a wealth of weapon mods to keep the experience fresh as the game goes on, and the game really rewards exploration.

The world and graphics are beautiful. If you needed anymore proof that art style is king, this game looks fantastic.

The characters are appropriately fun/serious. The game doesn't take itself too seriously, but also doesn't bombard you with jokes. It's a good balance.

The soundtrack... I dunno even know man, you just gotta hear it for yourself. All I can say is thanks to Chipper Hammond, Nikola Nikita Jeremic and Tim Stoney for going all out with it. (Also thanks for putting it on Spotify, some devs don't always do that).

VERY minimal performance issues, like a slight drop here and there near the end of the game when the fights have a lot of enemies. I'm pretty sensitive to this stuff, so trust me, it's perfectly within reason.

My only real gripe is that it could've had tighter pacing, there were a few stages near the end that I think could've been shortened, but it's nowhere near as egregious as it could've been, because the environments are distinct enough, and the combat is always evolving. Still though, tighter pacing would've been a bonus.

This game is clearly a labour of love, and I'm glad it's being received so well. Great job Trigger Happy interactive.
