Arthur Morgan my beloved...

Very satisfying gunplay, incredible worldbuilding, fascinating characters and a storyline that gripped me from start to finish. I absolutely adore Red Dead 2. Such a well put together package.

GAME OF THE GAME

So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ refreshing to just have a game that throws you in and lets you have at it. No bells and whistles, just ♥♥♥♥ around and find out.

Tbh that's the whole game actually: ♥♥♥♥ Around and Find Out. The game has hints scattered around to keep things from being too obtuse, and the whole journey just feels extremely cohesive. Discovering the storyline behind all the characters is very fascinating. There's a lot of lore to dig into. You're guaranteed to find a few characters who resonate with you.

Absolutely deserved the accolades its' received. Incredible game.

Lovely soundtrack, courtesy of the fabulous Lena Raine. Maddy is a lovely and likeable protagonist, and her journey is engaging to see through to the end. Very relatable character.

Gameplay is insanely good. Very very very fun. Combat takes the centre stage as easily the best part of this game by a long ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mile.

Shame the story sucks ass, but hey you're not playing Boneworks for the "ooooOOoooooOO you're in a video game OoOOOoo" plot.

I do wish there was more variety with the enemies and the guns. Melee weapons are awesome and have plenty of variety but the guns are just pistols, SMG's and a rifle.

Really really fun game. Breaks beyond the "Early Access Survival" stereotype by actually feeling like a finished product. There's so much to do already that it's worth your money right now.

Very excited for future content from these devs. Got 200+ hours at time of writing and I've never even killed Yalguth before.



now here are some spoilery critiques i have, mostly in terms of features that feel incomplete (duh, it's early access, but these feel especially incomplete)

-Bonemass sucks ass. His attack patterns are easily avoidable and he's a total joke. He's tough the first time you kill him, and never again once you learn to prepare the arena, pack poison resist mead and use iron maces. I have no idea how I'd change him, but he defo needs a rework overall. He's the only boss i actively dislike. He looks stupid and isn't challenging, but at least his power is useful.
-The swamp sorta feels like it locks you into using maces, since half the enemies and the boss are weak to blunt damage.
-There's a few enemies that just feel...really pointless? The Fenring, Stone Golem and Bat are all enemies that kinda don't really do anything. Fenring I can excuse cuz it's rare af and contributes to the lore of the frost caves, but the Stone Golem has no unique drops and is ridiculously painful to defeat. Bats do barely any damage to mountain-tier equipment and also have no unique drops. What's the point of em? i could see stone golems dropping some sort of ancient rock that might be used for a powerful weapon of some sort, and the fenring maybe dropping fenris claws and fenris hair for people who can't find frost caves? bats are still just a nuisance tho
-I'd appreciate it if there were more "balanced" food types (aka foods that increase both HP and stamina at the same rate, like the boar jerky)
