I've been playing Guild Wars 2 for 12+ years (since release) and have put thousands of hours into it (3,548 hours at the time of this review). It has a great story, action-based combat, art style and soundtrack. There's so much to do; stories, maps, events, collections, achievements, PvP, World vs World (large scale PvP with siege and bases) and loads of various PvE content.

You can earn experience by doing almost anything, allowing you to play how you want. It doesn't take long to reach the level cap (80) but even after that if you can earn masteries. Your mastery level pretty much replaces your level on the experience bar and above your character (the max currently being 605). It's enjoyable earning them and there are some great quality of life masteries and really fun ones like mounts (the best mounts in any MMO).

The game is also great solo, which I mainly do. Events pop-up around the open world that any player passing by will jump in on. There's world bosses and large meta events that loads of players are also participate in. The LFG tool is great for finding groups doing events or whatever; allowing you to easily join in.

There's no vertical progression so you can leave and come back whenever you want and your gear will still be relevant. You always have a goal to work towards though; such as legendary gear or some fancy skin. Legendary weapons and armour don't have better stats than ascended (the best gear in the game) but have really cool and unique skins/effects. They also have convenience of letting you change their stats and you can also use them on multiple of your characters at the same time.

If you like MMORPGs or even just RPGs you should give this game a go. The base game is free and has plenty of content.
