Although the start is a little bit difficult, the game is an enyoing long time game with many possibilities.

If you like Diablo, you will like Path of Exile. Although I am still in Act I I really enjoy plaing this game. The athmosphere is dense, the character development seems complicated, but there are many guides out there so you will manage this easily. All in all a really good game which you can play for free.
