Finally an official TGM on Steam! Plays amazingly on Steam Deck OLED.

Super disappointing performance and visuals on my decent rig. Worlds ran beautifully on my 2060. This looks worse than a ps3 game and runs like 30fps, often dipping to 15-20. It’s pretty much unplayable, and even if it was, the main grab of a next gen monster hunter game is still lost in visual fidelity. I don’t trust Capcom to fix this in the next year, if at all for what is now considered “lower tier hardware”. Pretty disappointed.

Tank controls, samey environments, predictable enemies with no visual variety, snooze fest wrapped in a neon gloss. Glad I got this game refunded.

What a nice, quaint little game. It was short and sweet, but I got a lot out of the story and the beautiful artwork. It’s basically an interactive painting. The music was also very enjoyable. Would definitely play again in the far future.

Such a fun game! Beat the main story tonight and it was such a wild ride. Kinda has a similar vibe to Olli Olli World, which was one of my favorite games of last year. I loved the art style, and how fluid the controls are for all the modes of transport. Music is pretty cool, there’s so many bangers. I’m stoked they added a fun little mini game to the phone in the patch 1 update too. Can’t wait to play more and unlock all the stuff.

Okay, I managed to just keep reloading the game when it crashed until the shaders fully compiled (took 3.5 hours of this monotony). I was finally able to play the whole game including the Left Behind sidestory. What an amazing game. The gameplay, music, cinematography, animation, fighting system were all very fulfilling. But most of all, this game had one of best written stories I’ve had to pleasure to experience in a video game. I had managed to avoid pretty much all spoilers to this game for the last 10 years and was waiting for the fateful day it came to pc (or that I finally buckled and got a PlayStation on top of my pc and switch lol). But anyway. I had been under the impression it was just another stupid zombie game, but instead it was a much cooler surprise and a concept I’ve always wanted to see explored in any sort of medium. But I won’t spoil what that is here for the few that were also able to hold out this long without finding out the true plot point.

The gore system in this game is f-ckin brutal and varied as well, it’s very fun finding new ways to disembowel different parts of your opponents. It’s amazing to me that this is made by the same studio that created crash bandicoot. Way to go, NaughtyDog!

The only negative before the launch day jitters were the fact I basically had to play this game on entirely low settings and the poor optimization the porting team achieved. I basically had this game running at 2k, low settings, high environment textures, and kept between mostly 30-49fps on my rtx 2060. This is the first modern game I’ve had to play less than high settings with a stable 60+fps. That’s mostly because this game wants to eat your VRAM. I have 6gb VRAM and this has never been an issue with other games till now. With that said, even on low, this game did look amazing despite some annoying pop-in with certain textures. For the most part my suspension of disbelief was seldom shattered. Oh and another cool bit of trivia. If you own and play this game with a DualSense controller, adaptive triggers work if you disable steam input!!! This is the first game I’ve played on pc that let me use adaptive triggers without the controller being plugged in. Fun feature.

My original review: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve spent the last 2 and a half hours just trying to play this game. Haven’t even seen the first scene of the game yet because it keeps crashing on me while building shaders. My computer is still pretty decent (intel i7/rtx 2060 6gb vram/16gb ddr) and can run most modern games, so this is ridiculous. I can’t even refund it since I got my key on fanatical. Guess I’ll have to wait and see if Sony updates this game to actually work. I’ll update the review if I can actually run and play this game one day 🙄

If you hate bad pop music like Bruno mars, avoid this game like the plague. Refunded it almost solely on that. I don’t need generic department store normie music in my video games, I play games for an escape for the monotony of everyday life, not be reminded of it. 0/10.

Super clunky controls, boring repetitive environments, flash game era graphics. Save yourself some money and get a good twin stick shooter like binding of Isaac.

The new AI is so bad now. I liked the game’s AI way more previously. Now it’s like super hard to stay ahead. Really needs another rewrite or reversion.
