Basically a PS2 game with all its pros and cons.
Crazy customisation and fun that doesn't matter or make much sense

I'm a huge Subnautica and Outer Wilds fan and this game definitely is able to scratch this particular exploration itch.

It's a fantastic experience once you get the hold of it (it's all about the parry which took me far too long to figure out) but I fully agree with most of the negative reviews that mention the grind and weird difficulty curves.

In short - if I didn't turn off the thirst+hunger and equipment degradation mechanics I'd probably bounce off this game after the first big objective. The thing about games like Subnautica and Grounded with those beautiful crafted worlds begging for exploration is that the typical harsh survival mechanics literally pull you the opposite way of the best parts those games have to offer. Which is exploring the unknown.
Especially when combat is that prevalent and oh boy it is not easy.

Also the "lategame" sort of slows down in a very similar way to Elden Ring but it's not a huge issue.

These are the only downsides for me. Otherwise it's a fantastic, funny, scary, challenging game.

The world is INCREDIBLE. The microuniverse of the 80s is both adorable and terryfing. All the love put into the animation and behaviour of the inscects...ah chef's kiss
I haven't been that addicted to a game in a long time. Did not expect it at all.

TLDR: If you like exploration-heavy survival games, challenge and teen movies from the 80s - turn off hunger mechanics and give this one a go

Unlike so many "walking simulators" this game 100% delivers in what it was set and supposed to convey.
It's still a game and game mechanics fit seamlessly into the... well audio-visual journey which is what this game is and what you should expect from it.

Obviously it's a short super basic niche product and you need to like this kind of games but it's a surprisingly well thought through, well executed, well paced polished experience.

Also if you think the graphics is incredible wait until you hear the music.

I can't believe this. 50 wasted hours. Worst main quest in the history of gaming. The game that made me hate open world games.

So cool! Plenty of advanced rhythmic concepts never used in the genre.
I haven't seen complex swing/jazz stuff in a rhythm game before. It's amazing but I guess it might be a tad difficult for people without musical ear. Even as a musician i can tell you this game get real hard real quick.
I love it

I am a huge fan of Darksiders 1

It was a simple game that showed how creative and fresh a game can be while still sticking to a very exploited genre (DMC, God of war). Loved the story and dialogues as well. Darksiders has always felt like a good cartoon from the 90s (Batman, Spiderman etc).
Basically Hack and slash + puzzles executed extremely well

Then came Darsksiders 2. By listening to popular demand and trends they introduced non-linear gameplay, open world and a loot system.
None of these concepts were executed really well. After playing for a while I started struggling to finish the game as the open world made it quite hard to keep you interested in the main story where the actually fun Darksiders gameplay was fortunately still to be found.

I've just finished number 3.

First couple of hours - I'm loving it. Top-notch 90s cartoon dialogues and VOs are back. Clear linear gameplay, new mechanics, new puzzles. Good ol' silly darksiders are back.

The difficulty definitely went up a few notches (i played on diff 3/4) but as a seasoned Dark Souls player i embraced it and have nothing bad to say about the combat system. Tight, responsive, rewarding. At the same time, i understand that the step towards the souls-series might have put off a lot of people. You can always switch to "Classic" combat mode if you prefer and go back to the usual DMC mashing style.

The map design also went towards souls-like. So we have plenty of intertwining areas, opening shortcuts etc. Imo, that slows the pace of the game in a negative way and only fits to souls games as they are very much about about map-design in general. And you have to be a genius level designer from japan to pull this off as a cool feature. Here it feels a bit forced just like honestly every feature this series has ever tried to import from other games.

So after like half of the game something starts to feel really off. Suddenly literally everything seems rushed (maybe except enemy design that stays on point till the end). Puzzles become uncreative, the dialogues/story becomes AWFUL AND CONCLUDE WITH NOTHING.
Once you unlock all powers you actually feel like you're playing some cheap game. Something clearly went wrong in development.

So 5h into the game i wanted to give it 7.5/10. After seeing the credits I'm giving it 5/10 and a negative review.

STOP FORCING MECHANICS FROM OTHER GAMES INTO DARKSIDERS, GUYS. IMPROVE ON YOUR OWN CONCEPTS AND MAKE A GAME YOU'D ENJOY YOURSELVES.

In the end I think the team that brought us nr1 is simply not there anymore so I have 0 expectations for the last horseman of the apocalypse.

Have been playing street fighter games since the second one. Never competitively until this one.

This is the first online street fighter with a good fair matchmaking. So the first one where I could actually play online and not lose 30 games in a row. Straight out of the bat you're getting matched with people who just like you are taking their first steps. Numbers only proove the point. This is the most noob-friendly sf to date.

Personally absolutely love the new mechanics especially how basic normals look and feel.

Every character is thought through for the first time and designed with clear pros and cons. You'll get tier lists in every game. I think the balance is still very decent.

- Only thing I don't like is the character purchase system, ingame currency requires insane grind since Arcade Edition and the price isn't that low to start with. Grab a discount.

I'm in my thirties, i've played a lot of games.

This is hands down one of the most unique experiences i've ever had in front of a computer. Please don't think of it as a just a rhythm game even though my music sensitivity basically had a 14-hour long orgasm.

The dark aggressive overwhelming aesthetics resonate with me on all levels but I guess that might not be the case for everyone.

Also: A TOP 3 MUST BUY FOR VR USERS.

TLDR: VR user? BUY THIS GAME

Early Access Review
As someone who considers himself an experienced MOBA player i have to say this is a really fresh experience.
After only playing for several hours I can already see a huge potential for depth and variety in this game.

What does turn me a bit off though is the overall graphic style and character design. It's just doesn't seem cool and compelling to me. I don't get attached to the creatures and the visuals feel boring and cheap to me in general.

Definitely worth checking out. I also think it might be great for esports broadcasting.
