Alright, first things first: I like the story and find the characters to be far more enjoyable than I expected. However, I do see a lot of familiarities between The Quarry and Until Dawn that make me think this game is a little more than just a spiritual successor, maybe more of a sister. While I can easily overlook this, I've seen that some others haven't, so it just boils down to personal preference I guess.

My issues are with the game and its performance.. or a lack thereof. Playing on day one was practically impossible. I could barely get through a cutscene without the game stuttering and flat out freezing, and the audio would constantly cut up and de-sync. After a 3 GB patch, these issues have just barely been remedied. Turning the resolution down did more for the games performance than an actual update. While I can get through a whole scene with just a handful of lag or otherwise, I can't finish one without the game crashing. That's been happening a lot SINCE the update. Don't know who who the hell let this slide, but the game in its current state is near unplayable. Maybe in a few days or so it'll be better, and if/when that time comes I'll change my review, but until then I cannot recommend this game unless you have a behemoth of a PC with specs far, far above what's recommended.

EDIT: immediately after writing this review, I decided to get through the latest scene that I couldn't finish because my game crashed. I couldn't even make it 10 seconds before it crashed. man I'm so disappointed

you'd expect someone to save you but no, they just let you hang on the hook while you're getting slaughtered by some spider creature.

basically what im saying is add a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ singleplayer because it would be some much better than running around with people who dont give a ♥♥♥♥ about you even though thats part of the game.

I regret buying this ♥♥♥♥.
