I have traveled for 22 years from the year 2002 to go to college and be a slacker. When I was a young boy, my dad used to tell me about college and how there were so many hot girls there. In my mind, I imagined college to be a big open field with lots of tents, and under each tent, there would be a different group of people. I imagined one tent to have a group of clowns, another tent to have the aforementioned hot girls under them, another tent to have prospective Class C drivers under them, and so on. This was before the bathroom in our house was remodeled, so that's how you know it was a long time ago. I held on to this vision of college for several years until I visited the Florida State University campus in detail. To my chagrin, college was nothing more than a bunch of buildings, some more interesting than others, and the occasional stadium. My dad was not wrong about the girls though. I come from a town where nothing ever happened. Everyday life moved slowly. For a country boy like me, the University of Georgia is the land of opportunity. Athens is a town where the same thing never happens twice, and there is always something new to do. Dozens of clubs meet on UGA's campus every day, and special events happen every day. Everywhere you look, there is always something to involve yourself in. A constant chance for personal growth awaits with each new day. What is my role within the student body, you ask? I'm the president of the Anime Club. This is my story.
