My level of entertainment achieved from singleplayer games is so low that I tell people that "I do not play singleplayer games". That said, I don't really know how to go about 'reviewing' this one. I'm just gonna ramble, and you're just gonna read, okay? Good.

It has been many years since I've found a non-multiplayer game that has decent level design and good story, let alone one that doesn't feel like youre fighting repetitive, dull enemies in a completely bland setting. This game is the contrary in its entirety.

The story is so good that it is publishable - I would buy the book, truly! The maps are designed in a way that you actually feel like you're progressing. The enemies aren't anything to write home about, but it definitely didn't let the overall experience down at all.

Voice acting is ace, and so is the soundtrack. I didn't notice any annoying sound effects or anything else I usually complain about in single player games. The cinematics feel like they are professionally directed.

Graphics are suprisingly good and the lighting is second to none. Being what I originally thought was a console-exclusive, the controls are actually ... perfect? I have never felt so comfortable playing a third person perspective with a mouse and keyboard. I'd love to see these controls in a multiplayer shooter.

The camera can be dodgy at times (due to its position over the shoulder, making jumps feel a little awkward if not thought about for a brief moment before attempting), though it greatly makes up for it by keeping the cinematic feel.

As for the story, I will admit that if I stopped playing during the tutorial, or perhaps soon after, I may not have come back to it. But, having gone that little bit further and then started being engaged by the plot, boy am I glad I did keep playing. ...I really want to yap on about the story - it is, afterall, the best part - but I wouldn't want to risk spoiling it.

This game could have a position as one of my top ten favourite games, or at least 'most well-made games'.

Do not overlook this title.
