theHunter: Call of the Wild is a magnificent game. At first, I was looking for a hunting simulator just to sate my desire for hunting, stalking, shooting so my expectations were relatively low in terms of accuracy and quality but man, this game far exceeded everything I thought I wanted in a hunting game. If you are looking for a hyper-realistic hunting game, this is it. I read an article from an AI developer and the sheer volume of work and research that went into developing the animals' behavior, it's just phenomenal.

The game is complete in terms of the base game but for the amount of content that the developers have created, built, and refined in the form of DLCs has just added so much value to the game. I've been playing this game for 2 weeks non-stop trying to get at a trophy animal, exploring the map, finding habitats and just overall enjoying what the game has to offer (and this is just on one map!!!).

The Harvest screen is very good, it gives you feedback on where you hit, how deep it hit and why it didn't drop the animal as fast as you thought it would. This mechanic is fantastic. I have really enjoyed this part of the game. Using different weapons, different skill trees, different angles, all of that can and will be used as an experiment down the line so there is so much variety to what you can do in the game.

With that being said, I do wish there were more weapons to choose from, as I now have all the in-game rifles without DLCs. It just goes back to my point of trying different weapons.

I've spent 100 hours playing the game but I still feel like I've hardly scratched the surface of what is, the world of Call of the Wild. Definitely worth the money, definitely worth the time.
