A really solid simulation game with a great atmosphere and music, which is really fun to play! [/i]

THE PROS:
  • game atmosphere and music design is fantastic
  • many plants and biomes to choose from
  • great realistic functions like hunting and the construction of hives, nests and beaver dams.
  • low poly design gives a great aesthetic
  • the game is just really fun to play, and to sit back and watch after you have finished creating your world.

THE CONS:
  • there are an okay amount of animals to choose from, but some biomes lack content (e.g. the lush, desert and snow biomes)
  • the camera controls can feel slightly clunky at times
  • after playing for over an hour, the game seems to have some freezing and lag spike issues
  • quite a few minor bugs

Overall, the game was created by a single person - ThinMatrix, and he has put in an insane amount of work over the last few years to create this game. The price is $10 or £7.50 which is a GREAT PRICE for what the game has to offer, and I totally reccomend buying the game, but more content in the future would allow for more replayability and a more immersive experience.

Early Access Review
I may have only played this game for a short while, but I played the early demo version on itch.io, and this game has come so far!

The gameplay to start with can be a bit repetitive, but once you have your raft setup with water purifiers, farms for food and nets to catch you basic resources, the game can be really fun - exploring islands and broken rafts and underwater mining for advanced resources, used to upgrade all of your basic tools.

I really like the game's new graphics and how well it runs, I did not encounter one bug apart from a few issues with the hook whilst playing, and I've had a blast so far.

I've not finished the game yet, but there is quite a bit of content to mess around with, if it's exploring or building an amazing pirate ship out of the tiny raft that you start with - this game is great.

Sure, there may not be a HUGE amount of content to play with for the game's price tag at £15 or 20$ but the devs have been great at making such a stable and well thought out launch build of the game and promise that more content will come in the future, so this game is a MUST buy for any survival / simulation game fan out there.

P.S. Please add Harpoons so we can kill the damn shark <3

This game is a great sequel, and changes / improves many features from the last game.

Performance:
I am running a average i5, GTX 1060 build and the game runs on high, about 55-60 fps indoors and 50-60 in the town area, runs perfectly smooth with very few lag spikes, and never crashed once during my playthrough.

Gameplay:
I love the fact that there are now new and improves abilities within the game. Corvo comes with his regular loadout from the previous game, with slight upgrades to make playing as him much more smooth. Emily's new abilites give me a reason to want to collect runes and spend the time choosing what I want to invest into, they allow very different playstyles and can be used in all the different scenarios you get yourself into. Although many abilites were enchanced for Corvo, I felt that the game should have implemented some more non-lethal playstyle abilities for both the characters to use, as in order to get a 'good' and 'non-chaotic' ending you have to spend more time in being careful that you dont kill some random dudes, I feel like the game should support the non-lethal route more, making it easier for first time players of the dishonored franchise, as lethal seems to be much easier playstyle to go with. The new bonecharm system is cool, but only a few bonecharms I found were useful to be honest, I specced into crafting bonecharms with Corvo and I felt it was a bit of a waste of time and runes really. The new powers/abilites spec tree is quite interesting, and I feel that most of the buffs obtained with runes are the same if not better than some of the bonecharm powers. The new black market feature is probably one of my favourite things about Dishonored 2. The fact that you can hunt down and rob the markets, or stock up on supplies while in a mission is great. The biggest change that I have seen is new mission styles, not only can you delve into and explore a clockwork house with changing walls and floors, escape and break into a palace, assasinate somebody at his own party, travel through time and play pretty much two levels at the same time and break into a witch infested mansion. I feel that the game has more variation than the last, and some of the non-lethal options have been well thought of, instead of rendering every key figure unconcious, you have to ruin a witches ritual to rid her of her magic, corrupt a painting to trap somebody inside, convince a body double to pretend to be the duke and much more. Also, one last thing. I feel that the overall feel of the game and the difficulty consideration has increased, the game seems so enchanced story wise, and the enemies can prove troubling at time, causing the need to come up with new tactics to beat them. But with the new difficulty setting, with over 20 options for certain aspects of the game, even veterans can still feel intrigued to play again and again. Oh and the fact that Corvo is voiced is literally a reason to buy this game. If you're having doubts, do what I did and get the demo to check performance and if you like the game. 10/10 recommend, looking foward to any possible DLC.

Update: Just played through the game for a second time, and even though I knew exactly what to do there was just so much replayablitity to it - can I do this bit stealthily, finding new areas which I had no idea about before, playing with both character's powers. This game is amazing..

Not played for long, but this game is so fast paced and enjoyable, with many diffierent loadouts and tactics for you to use, with quite a few maps with various objectives would definitely recommend!
