After playing Knights of the Old Republic, I was blown away by how incredibly amazing that game was. When I began to play the sequel, The Sith Lords, in my mind I thought it would be very good but not as fantastic as KOTOR...

The Sith Lords, after playing it and then replaying it again, is perhaps one of the most utterly amazing games I have ever played, in such a way that it surpasses the original. Obsidian Entertainment has truly created a wonderful game.

The game improved upon everything from KOTOR, from the atmosphere to the character development, to the story and music, and most importantly the complex morals and philosphies introduced in the game that shed new light on the Star Wars interpretation of the Jedi, the Sith, and the Force.

The gameplay is almost identical from the first game, but it gives you new options that can influence companions to become stronger and learn new techniques, whether you are light, dark, or somewhere in between. You can mold your character into whatever playstyle you choose.

So much of this game is incredible, but unfortunetly, there are some technical issues that can decrease your playing experience.

Back in 2004, one year after KOTOR was released, LucasArts pushed Obsidian to release the game in a hurry by the holiday season. So, much of the game was left bugged and with plotholes.

Thankfully, there exists a mod on the Steam Workshop that restores this content and fixes the bugs: The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod. Created by a group of dedicated modders and fans, the mod fixes over 500 bugs and restores much of the content cut from the original release. This mod is a definite must if you want to play and enjoy this game.

In conclusion, The Sith Lords is an underated masterpiece that is truly mind-blowing. In 2015, PC Gamer listed this game as one of the best PC RPGs of all time, and rightly so. I would HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who not only enjoys Star Wars, but also a really wonderful experience.
