Rain World is a game with a rather prickly exterior but a core of gold.
It's difficult and often in ways that are less than fair, and explains only the bare essentials to the player, leaving them to wander. It's not always clear what the "right" way to go is, meaning it's not too hard to wind up in some areas that are excessively difficult for a beginning player.

But if you can make it past its rough aspects, Rain World offers an experience that is truly unique. The world is vast, meticulously detailed, and is host to a living ecosystem that will continue to surprise you. There's much more depth to the world than there may initially appear. The many hostile environments of the world will pose a challenge that seems insurmountable at times, but with caution, cleverness, and experience, it can all be overcome.
The different characters, Sandbox and Arena modes, and mod support of the game provide endless ways to play as well.

In the end, Rain World certainly isn't for everyone, but is unforgettable for those who can dive into it.
