this was initially a pretty edgy soundin review but im replacing it now

game: good
recommend: depends

pretty unconventional and requires relearning basics, which is internally harder the more platformers you have played (you are barely taught how to walk) and the older you are (old habits die hard). Enjoying discovery is a requirement, because that's what this whole game is about - explore, find new stuff, experiment with new stuff, find out how it works, go further using acquired knowledge, rinse-n-repeat. There are a lot of obscure and convoluted mechanics that work in tandem to form a living machine of a world, and you can untangle them in any way you find appropriate. If that doesn't sound attractive, probably play something else.
Learning can be somewhat unforgiving and occasionally unfair, and definitely not jankless, but that's part of the experience in a way.

Advice: don't focus too much on the "story" and explore at your own pace. No matter how cute the cutscenes are, their existence is an afterthought and was stuffed in late in development. It's a simulation game, primarily. Treat it as such. Journey is the destination.

Statistically speaking, not a lot of people finish it. You have probably seen the majority of negative reviews already - people who left after 3-4 hours of Rain World not clicking with them. Can't blame too much, but do give it a shot if you think you have the time and patience it can request.

In case you make it through, we will be happy to greet.
