To preface, I've put many hours into the game before it came to Steam.

Who has the better shotgun? This is the only question the Crucible shall answer as of writing.

I can recommend this game mostly for the PvE, which is generally well done, albeit aside from raids a tad short sometimes. Weapons feel good, Exotic weapons and armor mostly all have quite interesting effects and traits. The Quest system is designed quite well, and it feels damn rewarding to find a hidden side adventure/quest with a great reward at the end.

PvP has constantly needed balance work, and while generally fun is sometimes a real tough mode to find enjoyment in when the balance is best visualized as a pendulum. Right now, the entire weapon class of Shotgun is the gold standard in The Crucible and it will destroy your patience with prejudice. Across all competitive shooters it has been a bit of a touchy subject, with minor changes wildly overpowering or underpowering them. Right now, I feel we're in the former. Lethal range is ridiculous, highly accurate fire while sliding, I feel it was a mistake to take this class from being exclusively heavy.
